Les Innocentes, The Agnus Dei Blues: Tuesday, March 6th!

Fame is very agreeable, but the bad thing is that it goes on 24 hours a day. -Gabriel García Márquez, novelist, journalist, Nobel laureate (6 Mar 1927-2014)

Patrick, do you know how many can come? If there are 6 with her Jos said she wouldn't come as it's a long drive. If there are 7 with her then she would come. please let us know thx Gill Hello Bridge Folk! I was going to send out last count yesterday evening but we had friends for dinner and was not able to do so.

[Cuba delivered: It was like that 😎]

Very sadly, as you all know, I believe, Olly is away at a funeral. For her part, Pam cannot play. This being the case, Josinta need not make the long drive from Summerlandia. Lady Dar and I will flip a coin to see who will represent The Burns Street Mob and the winner will drive, with Judy Blue, to Spiller Road, so that there will be one full table. Trust this suits everyone. Cheers, Patrizzio! PS: Thought I'd include this image for the viewing pleasure of all! I love ❤️ that photo!! Patrick, I will bow out! I am going to Kelowna tomorrow for a day of shopping. Now you and corinne can both go, and if we get carried away I don't have to worry about rushing home. Good cards and love to all Judy

Hi again, please both of you come along. I like watching and Phil no problem sitting some out too. We can take it in turns even. Hope to see you both tomorrow with Judy Hi Jack Rabbit, et al! From Two Tables to One! As it turns out Judy Blue, (Glad you liked pic, JB!), has bowed out as she will in Kelowna and now won't have to rush back. Lady Dar and I will arrive for a re
play of Oak Creek! Thanks. See you both tomorrow! Cheers, Patrizzio! Have fun hardcore bridge players. Hope to see everybody next Wednesday, here in Summerland. Jos

Ah yes Lion, I remember the movie well - just could not connect the name to the story. Very good! What did you and your Oscar party attendees think of the awards show? Here, we thought Jimmy Kimmel was pretty good and, overall, enjoyed the show quite a bit - as we usually do. I was pleased with the best movie award to Shape of Water, as it was possibly my favorite of the year of those nominated for best pic. I would have liked to have seen the first woman director win - but knew that probably wasn't going to happen with that particular film. Though Ladybird was also possibly my favorite of the year!! In my opinion, you didn't miss too much by not seeing Call Me By Your Name. Very "artsy", though slow moving - and a good performance by the youngster.

Sounds like things are busy as usual now that you're back home and getting reorganized after being away for so long. Here, we just hosted our first of two Barrel Tasting weekends - and it was a fun time. Had relatives here to visit and help and that always makes for fun evenings after the event. It rained two of the three days. Even though we needed the water, it wasn't the best time for it to appear after such a long, dry spell. Still had a good crowd of people and the sales were good, so I shouldn't complain. Gearing up for the second weekend now. Gotta get food for our taco bar ordered and set up again. It was quite popular, even though the grumpy one says tacos with red wine is a terrible combination :)! Talk to you later, Patrizzia

Must away as sun is shining and I want to go for a ride. Streets are nice and dry after yesterday's snowfall although very little evidence now remains.

It was my roof over the deck that was leaking up stairs ,George will have to tear the ceiling off & do some work ,needs air movement Dave & Donna have a new cottage so no leaks there Hope Ayn gets her condo, seems to be perfect for her
Young people don’t seem to care if they have to commute every day It will be interesting to see where Cory & Rebecca end up living, school Will be another item in a couple of years Still mild here, although I do put a fire on in the evening Hi to Corinne & Chloe Clara

Thank you to everyone for your support these past few months. We’ve appreciated all the calls, cards, emails and visits. It’s comforting to know how much Ted was loved. We’ll send a link to the obituary in the next few days.

Hi Sarge and Ragin'! Elaine sent notice of the Celebration of Ted’s life. [See above.] Corinne and I plan to attend. With respect to Saturday evening of the Rugby '7's, are you interested in playing bridge Sarge? If so I will attempt to find another player. Branko and I are available. Let me know and I'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Thanks Patrick for this. Sorry to hear about Ted. Matt

This evening we saw Les Innocentes, the harrowing story of a French Red Cross doctor in Poland after World War II, dealing with the aftermath of mass rapes of nuns at the convent, near where she is stationed, by Soviet soldiers. Pics: Etta tries to understand the vacuum tube!
