I've Been Down So Long Blues: Friday, June 22nd!

The well taught philosophic mind / To all compassion gives; / Casts round the world an equal eye, / And feels for all that lives. -Anna Letitia Barbauld, poet, essayist, and editor (20 Jun 1743-1825)

Pardon this shameless publicity I sold a box of books yesterday, Some what smug, I remain, DBJS

Dear Patrick How are you?? So concerned as we have not heard from you in such a long time. Hope your ride is going well. Please email a bit as I want to know you are okay?? Today I am not sure if I am sad or happy that Nigeria beat Iceland in their soccer game. Nigerian goals were amazing. Now Iceland will have to defeat Croatia??

We are now in Belfast and attended a theatrical performance this evening The Kite Runner which was performed in the beautiful Grand Opera House. Performance was so so but the theatre was grand. Compared to the Republic of Ireland, Belfast as a city is run down and dirty. Off to Queen's University, St. George's Market and the Titanic Museum tomorrow. So far not all that impressed with Belfast--really disappointing. Anyways weather is great and we had a spectacular time in Athlone. Then it will be our last few days in Dublin.
Please send us a word!! Jo-Anne

Patrick! I’m so sorry to hear your holiday ended on such a sad note. Glad to hear you will be home soon. Take good care 🥨 Buoyed up by the fact that I will have visitors on the morrow, Ulrike and Thomas, with a two hour train ride, to negotiate, not to mention, Lady Darjeeling, swanning in from Penticton on her Lear Jet!
