Toulouse-Lautrec and the Basilic Blues: Friday, October 11th!

Most men resemble great deserted palaces: the owner occupies only a few rooms and has closed off wings where he never ventures. -Fran Mauriac, writer, Nobel laureate (11 Oct 1885-1970)

Toulouse-Lautrec from every angle…The Grand Palais dedicates a large retrospective to the artist known for his painting depicting Parisian night’s world. The exhibition aims at returning to three rejections influencing the current vision of Toulouse-Lautrec and clearing them: a certain despise of the values of his class, a market of disregarded art as well as a world of chargeable and overused night and sex.

All in all, 200 works of art try to replace this “conflictual vision of his modernity” with a more positive one. A peculiar artist who managed like no other to translate the world “with a unique force making ‘present life’ more intense and meaningful”. A painter that also got close to photography, aware of the power of amateur and professional photographers.

Hello, Gerry and I are thinking we might like to leave our 23 foot Airstream in Penticton or Osoyoos from the end of this month until probably April. We would rather not haul it home. We would like a covered spot with an electric plug in. We would GREATLY appreciate it if you could do a little research for us. Oh yes we would also like to know the price. We are currently on the southern Oregon coast coming up around the last week of the month. Thank you for any help you can give us Cheers, Dawn and Gerry

Anyway, just wanted to say how much we both enjoyed our time together. Too bad is was so short but still a hoot all around. Trust Madcap's ankle wasn't made more painful by all the unexpected walking and "muleage". Hello and best wishes Anna/Mad Max and Lisa, and to Carol as well, on her hip replacement.
