Rona and the Eavestrough Blues: Sunday, January 5th!

Fear prophets and those prepared to die for the truth, for as a rule they make many others die with them, often before them, at times instead of them. -Umberto Eco, philosopher and novelist (5 Jan 1932-2016)

Hi Patrick, I was wondering if you had a copy free to lend of our next book club choice. Doesn’t appear I’ll get it in time from the library. I’m enjoying the other 2 I’ve borrowed from you and will be returning them soon. Take care. Lou

Luigi
Hi Luigi! Thanks for the New Year's wishes. Sorry to hear about your cold. A number of other people were not able to attend Open House, [The beer drinkers quite enjoyed the four selections I picked up from Mad Max!], for much the same reason. Trust you are well on the mend now. Of course, you are welcome to borrow the book. [Don't worry about the others as we have plenty to read.] I haven't read it yet so the sooner you collect it the better then I can have it finished in time for book club. Not sure if I will be hiking tomorrow as since weather has been so cooperative, of late, I've been taking the opportunity to ride. Had a grand 81 km outing to Crescent Beach yesterday and it was simply wonderful. Lake was relatively calm, [ten gorgeous swans a-swimming, just off shore, south of Kickinee], and Naramata benches strikingly highlighted by sunshine, Mt Okanagan dusted with snow, a magnificent backdrop. Let us know when you will next be by and we'll have book waiting. Cheers, Patrizzio! PS: Have included Open House album for your viewing pleasure!

Chopper, Karen, Nico!
Happy New Year from The Burns Street Bistro, Karen, Chopper and Nico! Sorry
to learn you were both ill over Christmas. Must have been something related to the catalytic converter's ailment! Trust you enjoyed ringing in the New Year even if it was an early night! Thanks for best wishes. Pleased you enjoyed a visit with Katy and family. We had a wonderful time over the holidays, made even more magical with having Rowan James, as I'm sure was the case with you folk, with Robin! In this vein had some simply wonderful snapolas from Whirlygig, with beemingly proud Dad, son Jacob, Grizzled Granddad holding Zev, born a few days after Rowan James! Hip Hip Hooray!!!

[Hi all, Out with Zev for the first time Love Jane] Same day I received your Christmas reply I had a newsy note from Fast Freddy Ensom and a message from The Pepperoni Kid. Everyone seems well. This coming Thursday, Grogg and Lurch will be here for dinner, en route to skiing somewhere, so wonderful to keep up the VRC connections. Must away as I want to clean out the eaves-trough on the north side of the house as it fills with seed pods from Amanda's Acacia tree. Is never too, too difficult. I only need small stepladder as roof-line is quite low. All the best. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Patrick I do agree with you that we make judgements about others based on work that are inaccurate and we absolutely undervalue the work that so many people do that is critical to every day life. So glad to know you had a good new year. Right now I am in Nanaimo hospital as Colin's mother has had a cardiac episode. Now she is undergoing tests. It is tough getting to be 94. Take care of Rowan and Chloe and Lady Dar. Lots of hugs, Joanne

Hi Marps! How is Colin's Mom doing? Trust her condition has improved. We enjoyed a wonderful time at Sendero, this past Saturday. Beckster and Kid Chelene hosted yet another fabulous evening. Looking forward to seeing The Two Waynes, [Wayne Connors and Wayne Sutherland], Peggster and Flamin', [wives], this coming weekend. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio! Delicious dinner; Cousins, Avery, back, and Ashlynn; Proud Granddad! Marvinator, Kid Chelene and Beckster; Anna, nanny from Germany, and Locksley.
