'Twas a Snowy Day and the Enamel Dental Centre Blues: Monday, January 6th!

Hate is a dead thing. Who of you would be a tomb? -Kahlil Gibran, poet and artist (6 Jan 1883-1931)

Bridge in Summerland! You too always sacrifice. However I can stay home or come. Let me know. Hi Chooch! It is not a question of sacrifice but rather wanting your company and not wasting all the bridge lessons you took. As mentioned, Lady Dar has loads to do and is more than happy to let you play in her stead. I assume O Susannah will collect you first and then swing by to pick me up. See you this evening. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

[Patrick James Dunn Happy New Year to both of you! Cheers!] Hi Open House Goers! Lovely to see you and David, Karen, and to meet your daughter, Linda! Sorry it has taken me a bit to send along album. Must away to sweep sidewalks and driveway. Not sure how much good it will do as snow is really coming down! All the best. Cheers, Patrizzio! Actually, Linda is my fraternal twin sister...we are both 75 ;-) I sent an earlier message, but thanks again for your lovely celebration!  Karen Thanks Patrick and Corrine for the pictures of a fun afternoon new years gathering and to meet Rowan. A special Christmas and new years gift indeed! Hugs to you both, Linda and daughter Karen.

Hi Open House Goer and The Hat Man! Lovely to see you, Linda, at the gathering! Sorry it has taken me a bit to send along album. Must away to sweep sidewalks and driveway. Lady Dar is taking care of Rowan James while Chloƫ is trying to have her maternity leave benefits put in place. She submitted all the necessary paper months ago, at work and to federales and still no payments. Of course this is not only extremely annoying/frustrating but also financially crippling, given her mortgage, etc. All the best. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Pics: New Year's Eve with Beckster and Kid Chelene and friends; "New" crib for our place. Lady Dar found it at The Sally Ann for $20! Tiny pugilist a few days ago. "Put up your dukes, Grandma!"

Thank you for the pics. I am anxious to meet your new grandchild. I am happy for Chloe and all of you. I certainly wish you all well in 2019. Lots of love to all,
Jim Hillson Hi Zircon! Pleased you enjoyed the snaps. Rowan James can hardly wait to have bridge lessons from The Biding Guru of Medicine Hat! Thanks for the best wishes in 2019. I can only assume you staunch Prairie Folk still use the Julian Calendar! This way you are bale to celebrate two Christmases and two New Year's Eves. Sound logic, anyway to cut it! Fondestos from Lady Dar, on Rowan James grand-parenting duty as Chloƫ is running some errands. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pics: Friday evening at Sendero; last night's bridge match in Summerland! It was Josinta's birthday, [in red], and O Susannah baked a fabulous carrot cake! Flamin' and Sarge were here weekend before Christmas. They will be here this coming weekend, along with Peggy and Wayne Connors, close friends from St John's, after spending New Year's with Grogg and Lurch in Parksville. G/L will be here on Thursday, for dinner, [Staying in a hotel as I guess the Burns Street Bistro is not suitable accommodation for the hoi aristoi!], en route to skiing further north and east.

Hello Birthday Bidders! Thanks to Josinta for hosting on her birthday! For She's a Jolly Good Fellow! Hip Hip Hooray! Special thanks, as well, to O Susannah who baked a fabulous, fabulous carrot cake! Simply delish or would have been if Aarturos had not eaten most of it before anyone had a chance! Still, his cappuccinos were wonderful! Congratulations to Chooch who had all the cards and played them magnificently!

Next  week, Lady Dar and I will host, anytime after 6:30 pm, so let me know who will play and we'll plan accordingly. Until then, stay well. Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Birthday cake, bidders and arrivederci! I'm very, very grumpy because the winners, (Chooch and Patrizzio, of first three rounds], lost to The Losers, O Susannah and Josinta, in the W vs L final round! Bah Humbug! Now these are winning hands!

Thank you brave Susan et all to drive the snowy road to Summerland to play bridge. Your delicious carrot cake was such a nice bday surprise and so yummy.
Weather permitting I can play next week if needed. Cheers, Jos
I would like to play on Monday Cheers Carol I can play. Susan Hi Patrick  Ann here...turns out I can play tomorrow...if you need a 4th or 8th... let me know. Sorry for the late reply. A AEB
Hi Old Farts, Time to get going! This Thursday, we will do things a bit differently. Friday morning is the full moon. The sky is supposed to be clearer on Thursday than on Friday, so we are going to snowshoe by moonlight on Thursday evening. We will: -meet at 1900 (that’s 7:00pm) at the Cherry Lane north parking lot on Warren Ave. (1840 at IGA parking lot in Summerland). -carpool and head for the hills. We will go as far as the Snowflake parking lot -snowshoe the Snowflake trails and the ponds by moonlight (with the assistance of headlamps when necessary. Hopefully we will include a stop at the Rock Garden on Nickel Plate Lake. -return to town.

We anticipate snowshoeing for a couple of hours at least. With that in mind, we should be back in town at about 2300 or maybe a bit later. Be prepared with appropriate clothing (warm layers), something warm to drink, a snack, a charged and working headlamp, and snowshoes in good repair. If you wish to come along, please give me a nod. Looking forward to seeing a few of you after the layoff! Cheers, Jim
