The Gods Must Be Crazy Blues: Tuesday, March 19th!

It is impossible to enjoy idling thoroughly unless one has plenty of work to do. -Jerome K. Jerome, humorist and playwright (1859-1927)

Update just before 8 o'clock as L Diablo was mumbling and causing a fuss. Miss Santa was quietly grooming herself on my tummy. Had to pour petty shift the pretty girl to clamber out of bed to head to the kitchen to give them their special what food treat. Uncharacteristically Heather hopped up onto the counter and try to eat the food right out of the camp just like Duke usually does. Any right the shop based meal was much appreciated and they both licked their plates clean. They were obviously hungry as there was nothing but crunchy dust left in their bulls I'm last night. Sun is streaming in through the front window and making obvious that it needs to be cleaned again Lady Dars not happy I she misses her Mexican maid! When I dictated this last sentence she retorted quite simply let Carla was much nicer than me! Mutual I'm sure!

Hi from Hall Road:Hi, and thank you for the St. Pat's day card. A whole day in your honour! It is also my sister's birthday, so she gets a special day as well.
I hope you are basking in the suddenly summer weather as well.   I was lying here on my cot outside this morning thinking how quickly the cold winter is forgotten after two sunny days.  Spent the day in the garden yesterday cleaning up and got a reminder from my body that it was indeed hard work.  I'm on a roll though, and have more planned for today, which is supposed to be even warmer. Hope the shoulder is making progress bit by bit.  You are getting to be experienced in injury recovery.

Kjell is coming down to his last days here before departure. He is off next Wednesday.  Always a bit stressful for us both but we're getting used to it by now.  We went to Victoria last weekend for a city visit and played tourist.   Stayed in James Bay at an old hotel within walking distance of the harbour.  Saw an Imax show about the Great Bear Rainforest.  Amazing photography.  Also went to the World Wildlife Photography exhibit at the museum.   Victoria is super for a visit like that, and we went to some of my old haunts as I went to university there.

They have started construction on a house right next to me which will completely change the neighbourhood, especially for me and the neighbour on the other side, as it will be three storeys high in the end, considering the above ground crawl space is over six feet.  I'm busy planning exactly where and how I'm going to build fence panels and trellises for privacy.

In addition I have new neighbours my north side.  They are nice people but I fear I'll have little in common with them.  Their big interest is softball, etc.  They are tidy birds and were busy raking up leaves from under the hedge.   Honestly, however I shouldn't complain as they are nice people, but I wish there was a bit more basis for friendship like the last people.

Better go now as we're having guests for dinner, and a West Van library friend is dropping by for a visit this afternoon. Bestestos, as they say! Jane Hello Constant Gardener! Glad you enjoyed the card and belated birthday wishes to your sister. Yes, we are enjoying far warmer days and yesterday Lady Dar began rearranging the back patio furniture. We had it all clumped together to keep it away from snow during the winter. Friends, Calamity Jane and Whirligig, arrive on Friday for a couple nights. Depending on the temperature you may well be able to sit outside around the firepit.
Don't envy you your latest round of construction but it seems as if you have a plan in place to give you as much privacy as possible. With the construction of a three story duplex next door Lady Dar was initially upset. However, building replaced and unattractive empty lot and the building actually shades our house from much of the summer's heat, keeping our indoors quite pleasantly cool without air conditioning. Pleased you had a lovely time in Victoria. It is quite amazing how quickly time passes. Seems like I just blinked my eyes and the nine weeks Lady Dar was in Mexico in LA evaporated. She is at a yoga class this morning and this evening we will attend a Lens on the Lent film series sponsored by Oasis United. Showing this evening is The Gods Must Be Crazy. Saw it aeons ago so quite looking forward to seeing it again after almost forty years, I believe. Had forgotten most of plot but thoroughly enjoyed the silly slapstick, Keystone Cops humour and the telling condemnation of our "civilization" compared to that of the Kalahari Desert bushmen.

Must away as having done my arm and hand exercises I'm ready to ride my stationary bike. Have built up to 50 minutes to date so I'm planning for an hour today. I'm currently watching Mar de Plastico, set in southern Spain. Do you know the series? Fond regards to you both and I trust you're last week together will be most enjoyable. Best Estás, as the automatic dictation says, and Cheers update seal, [= Patrizzio!], also known as Patrick! Pics; Hosted two tables of bridge last night. I used a contraption, a small jewellery case I given Lady Dar, many many years ago. It worked very well so I managed to hold my own with The Sisterhood!

My old workplace is getting repurposed in no small way! The Manitoba
government had announced its intention to get out of tree seedling
production by selling the Hadashville nursery. A friend of mine is one of the few survivors of that debacle. Once the last batch of seedling will be ready for shipping, he will turn out the lights of this 65 year old institution.

Hello Repurposed Worker! At least all my relatives in Falcon Lake will be happy that they can purchase locally grown marijuana. War Eagle Wowee! For my part, I took a tour, a fun filled field trip, with my grade 8 class, to the facility, way, way back in the early 60s. Perhaps I'll repeat the experience with the new product! Cheers, Petite Seal, also known as Patrick! [I'd rather be known as Petite Syrah!] A bit of context is in order. I was pesticide applicator there from 1988 until 1990. Hello Agent Orange Man! No wonder you like heavily repeated moments, also known as heavily peated malt whiskey! Cheers, Patrick!

I got to read the fine print on the pesticide labels, and found my calling when I saw how poor the translation was. Went to study UofM, met my better half in the university library, next thing you know I was sitting on a patio in Kits with some seriously wacky people talking about Petite Sirah and other strange vine strains. A good story in perspective. Hi Patio Person! Obviously, a good idea to always read the fine print, especially on a marriage license signed by Lady Darjeeling! Cheers, Shortsighted Patrick!

Patrizzzziiiooo, apparently your email address bounced. Hopefully you get this, but obviously I do not expect you to be there! See soon. Aarturos Higher Dose Hi Aarturos! We picked up two tickets from Jimbo this evening at the Lens on Lent lent showing of The Gods Must Be Crazy. Delightful film, first seen almost 40 years ago. Cheers, the video, also known as Patrick! Great! Thanks! Aarturos
