To cultivate kindness is a valuable part of the business of life. -Samuel Johnson, lexicographer (18 Sep 1709-1784)
Hi Seven-No-Trumpers! Just a quick note to welcome Gillian Brown to our group and remind everyone that game is now for Monday evening with Olga Polga hosting. Regular starting time, around 6:30 pm so see those who can make the night. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Thank you from Gerd and Meggie: To all the stalwart Old Farts Gerd and I thank you all so much for coming to our farewell pick-nick /hike. It was a great day: lots of laughter, good stories, good food and no rain. Not to mention Dave Snyder`s wonderful musical contributions about flying underwear and other adventures. Gerd loves the underwear. He will wear it all the time! A special thank you to Vlad for the photo books. :-) We love them. Gerd and I are now looking forward to a new chapter in our lives. We will keep you informed about our explorations of the mountains near our new home. Hope to see you on one hike or another before we leave. Gerd and Meggie Jim, would you be so kind and forward this to everybody. Thank you. Dear Meggie and Gerd, et al! Thank you both so much for such a wonderful, (if bittersweet, as Big Al mentioned), wonderful farewell party. I do hope that the album captures some of the remarkable gathering with you, a number of your immediate family, (and family dog!), with a goodly number of your long-term hiking friends.
Although fairly new to this tremendous group I trust I can wish you both, on behalf of everyone, safe travels back to Germany and a more than positive start to your life there. All the best. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Not long after I was back from hike/party, Grogg and Lurch arrived this afternoon, for two nights. For dinner, Lady Dar made her fabulous pizza and Grogg entertained us on his new guitar.
