Push to Complete Bike Locker Fabrication Blues: Thursday, June 15th!

To a father growing old, nothing is dearer than a daughter. -Euripides, playwright (c. 480-406 BCE)

Had both Etta and Duke snuggled down on our bed this morning, staying close, for protection against the pesky intruder, Juno, I suspect, when I awoke at 6:30 am. They were happy to zip out the front door while I readied a pot of java for the Bull, whenever he should chose to rise, as well as pumpkinizing the Scaredy Cats crunchie fare. Took their bowls into my study and closed the door so that they could come into the house without having to risk a chance encounter with Juno, with her master, in the spare bedroom, but with the door slightly ajar, for ventilation. Plan worked well and cats had an uninterrupted breakfast. Although they are wise to wonder about Juno, she is an increibly gentle soul and would not harm them. She is simply curious and would like to get to know her Okanagan feline cousins!

Hi everyone, Firstly, thank you Jos for a pleasant evening. The views were spectacular and the toast to your anniversary was delightful as well as good bridge. I volunteered to host next week's bridge night and Tuesday
would be best but also can do Monday if necessary. Please let me know if this works for you. Hugs, Olly

Hi Olga Polga, et al! Delighted to hear that your back seems to be less painful, Rolly Polly, given the fact that you are prepared to host next Tuesday, June 20th. Thanks, as well, to Junk Food Gill for offering. Will keep your offer for latter! Since the scene of the crime will be in the darkest corner of Summeria, we will need two vehicles as there will be six of us: Naramata Goil, Judy Blue, Spiller Road Rowdies, Lady Dar and Patrizzio. I suggest the usual meeting time of 6:10 pm and we can assign vehicles then. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Tuesday sounds great
Olly. Jos Hello All, Thanks for hosting Bridge next week. I am out of commission until the beginning of July. I look forward to resuming Bridge games with you then. Hi again, Chicago Scoring Gang! I had forgotten that Naramata Goil will be away, (Safe travels and bring back lobster, Pamela!), so I will offer The MarriageMobile to chauffeur everyone from this side of the lake to Upper, Darkest Summeria. See hitchhikers here on Burns at 6:10 pm. With Madcap Michaelo back, we'll have eight so two tables here we come. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Hi-Vis Attitude Bloke! Pick-up for Tuesday morning sounds fine, although 16th/Burrard is a very busy intersection, especially at the time of the morning, 9:00 am +/-, we'd collect you, so it might be better to pull into a back lane close to your building. Is there such a place you might suggest? We can always drive by on Sunday or Monday to scope things out and even have a brief visit if you are in. Again, not a big deal but were you planning to stay until I drive back to collect Sarge, either on Tuesday, 27th, or Wednesday, 28th? More than fine with us. Would have to leave Penticton earlier on Wednesday as we are heading for Portland to overnight with friends so don't want to be too, too late there. Fondestos to Kathleen and you, Stefano, from The Marriage Officiant, in absentia! Cheers, Patrizzio!

I left a set of keys on the counter for you when you arrive on Sunday. Nicole Marvin and Jaxon will be there also for the two nights as they are moving out of there place on Saturday. When do you leave for back on Tuesday. Do you have any wine suggestion in the Monterrey area.

Hi Sarge! Thanks for leaving keys. Is there any place inside to park? Not a big deal if not but just thought I'd ask in case there is. Stefano has not let me know, yet, if he is coming back into Vancouver with me when I drive back to collect you. With respect to wine-tasting in and around Monterey, are you driving down from SF? If so you should drive down the coast on 1 and then you will pass through Santa Cruz/Soquel. Boony Doon is in hills just north of former and well worth a visit as well as a number of other spots thereabouts. I've not been in this region since first rugby trip with Mick, Ted and Sir Andrew, back around 2006/2007 so cannot really say what it is like now. Still think it should be worth while.

Further south, you can leave 1 at Watsonville to take 152 over the pass into Gilroy where there are a number of wineries and a great spot for local products, Rapazzini Winery, 4350 Monterey Highway just off 101. [Wine wasn't ever all that great but terrific mustards, bbq sauces, garlic products galore, (Gilroy proclaims itself to be the Garlic Capital of the US if not the World! We have gone to the Garlic Festival there a number of times and it was a blast!) Then you head south on 101 right into Monterey. Carmel is worth a visit as well, if you have time. Do you have a tee time at Pebble Beach? Fondestos to Flamin' and you, Sarge, from The Marriage Officiant, in absentia! Travel safely. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello Fartissimos, Coming Monday we will be going to the Kaleden SE Hills. We have done this before a couple of times, but it is beautiful and when it is too hot we cannot do it. We will gather at the HomeHardware in Penticton 8:00AM. Summerlanders should meet at 7:40AM at IGA then carpool to Penticton. PLEASE (Continue to) NOTE THE TIME CHANGE (8:00AM)! Hope to see you there. Aart Dronkers Hope to see you too! Hanneke
