Moody Misty Morning Blues: Sunday, October 7th!

The supreme happiness in life is the conviction that we are loved. -Victor Hugo, poet, novelist, and dramatist (1802-1885)

Up at 7:30 am to find Miss Etta sitting on one of the dining room chairs, patiently waiting for her pumpkin! Duke came streaking in once I's opened the front door. Dear Patrick: I hope this autumn you find time to rest and get your body ready for the exertions of winter. Thank you for the colorful card. In our fair country just now, things are pretty much black and white. So it's truly restorative to be reminded of how varied and bountiful the surrounding world is. We hope to see things in brighter hues next month! Cheers!!!!!!!!!! Cactus Hi Cactus and Floridian! We were both terribly, terribly upset by the Kavanaugh hearings and then his subsequent appointment. What a complete travesty and it is further maddening to listen to Trump and his Evil Trumpoids gloating as they lead the country into even deeper mayhem and injustice. While but a small measure of colourful hope I trust the attached snapolas will help in your struggle and desperate battle against The Dark! Fondestos and another Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, from her, to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Wishing the Canadian branch of the family a wonderful Harvest Feast with loved ones and friends! Wish us luck in November! Hope to take back at least part of the Congress next month. Hugs, Donna Florida and Cactus! Hello My American Cousins! Just finished peeling, cutting up and steaming our Butternut squash for tomorrow's dinner. Lady Dar won't allow me to season the dish but was quite happy for me to do all the drudge work! We will have all our limbs and digits crossed for you in November! Buona Fortuna! Patrizzio!

Thank you for the ecard! Very nice! Have a great Thanksgiving!  Hi JW! Glad you enjoyed the Thanksgiving card. Trust you are well. Must away as Lady Dar is now moaning about the chill in the air so I needs must away to lay a fire so that it warms Her Imperiousness when she readies the turkey! She made the stuffing yesterday as well as the fresh cranberry sauce, using Rosé for liquid! I chopped and diced onions and readied the Butternut squash. Spuds are my next job today.  Happy Thanksgiving and Fondestos from Lady Dar to you, Joan. Cheers, Patrizzio! Hi again! Thanks for the email and the pics of the farmer’s market… looks like a fun day was had by all… helps with the wine as well! Yes, the air is becoming a tad nippy but that is refreshing to me. Nice day here today… sunny and bright so far. Cheers! Joan

Hello to you both from The Island! Thanks for the card, and Happy Autumn & Thanksgiving to you as well. Kjell has departed and I'm full on with indoor things now that the weather has changed. We had a great summer this year. Didn't do a lot of exciting things but just enjoyed being here. Hope you've got some turkey on the menu in the next few days. Love, Jane  Hi Indoor Jane and The Departed One! Pleased to hear you are well even though you remain "Alone and palely loitering" on the sedge of the Salish Sea! Fondestos from Lady Dar, to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Golly good day friends: https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/abroad/ten-things-i-ve-learned-about-canada-in-40-years-living-here-1.3138105

Here is an article that sums up my experience in Canada. Just replace Anglo with Frenchman and Quebec with English Canada. 61 years is a good age to take a first stock of one's life. I lived in Manitoba for 20 years from the age of 21 to 41, and it remains my favourite province. I can adjust to life in British Columbia (one gets softer with age), but I remember integrating in a record time to life in Manitoba, partly thanks to the presence of the Franco-Manitoban community, St Boniface and the villages in the Southeast (excellent memory of stuffing myself at fall suppers). The French community gave me the opportunity to live on weekend in French (leisures, go to the library, etc.), while I worked in a completely English-speaking environment. Happy Thanksgiving! Bruno

I forgot about your Oct. Thanksgiving. Hope you didn't eat too much.
We had a great time in Alaska this summer. We go to FL toward the end of Sept. Too early. It is hot and humid. This is the first day I think it didn't rain. Looking forward to it getting cooler. Nothing else to report. Gail Gilman
Hello Florida Bound Folks! Trust you are both well. I assume you are off to Florida towards the end of October, not September as you wrote! Pleased to hear that you had a wonderful time in Alaska. Happy American Thanksgiving when it rolls around! Fondestos from Lady Dar to you, Gail, and Jack. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello Dearest Penelopé and Mad Cap! Glad you enjoyed the Thanksgiving wishes. Being "almost" Canadian, do you celebrate the holiday? I do apologize for not being in touch so much sooner but I didn't want to get on the wrong side of Mad Cap over my "ranting" and "nattering" or cause his new glass eye to fall out and shatter! Fondestos and another Happy Thanksgiving, from her, to you and family. Cheers, Patrizzio, Ranting Natterer Extraordinaire!

Grazzie Patrizio & Lady Dar! Your timing can’t have been better. Lots of drama in the Carr family. Beth recovered breast cancer treatment but emotionally lots going on and with our eldest daughter too. I am recovering in the Royal Jubilee Hosp in Victoria after a heart attack. Yesterday angiogram and one stent. Tues two more stents, one long one. Lots of blockages. Huge shock. Taken here by ambulance Fri pm. Was meant to be helicopter but none available. Feeling much better now. Staff great. Have spoken to all our girls & oldest grandson. Frank commuting from Parksville as my brother Roy is out of town. Home Tuesday or Wednesday. Happy thanksgiving to you both. Maggie & Frank 🦃❤️

Dearest Maggie! What devastating news! I cannot say how relieved we both are that you are recovering in spite of the blockages. Huge shock, indeed! Sounds as if you and your family have had/still have a lot on your collective plates. Can only wish everyone well and send our love for your full recovery. Fondestos from Lady Dar, to you and family. All the best for your recovery, Maggie. Cheers, Patrizzio! Thx for sharing. Sounds like you’ve had your fair share of health issues, Pat. Don’t play around with pneumonia. Healthcare good here at Victoria Royal Jubilee. Feeling good. Know more after Tues. Maggie❤️

Trust you are both well. Fondestos from Lady Dar to you, Claire and Grogg! Cheers, Patrizzio!
Thank you Patrick and Corinne, the card brought a smile to my face and as we gave thanks for our granddaughter who was 2 years old on Friday it was time! Are you interested in any of the G.O.T. scotches?  Hi Colin! I didn't even know such existed until you mentioned them! I'd be keen to try the "Clynelish Reserve—51.2% ABV, $60: A non-age-statement Highlands single malt, representing House Tyrell and displaying its rose sigil. Clynelish is located among green pastures and rolling hills, similar to the lush, fertile area of Highgarden, the home of the Tyrells. This whisky is also, apparently, light and floral but, like the family, 'not to be underestimated.'" Cheers, Patrizzio!

Lovely card Pat. Thanks, Nancy Hi Naughty Nancy! Glad you enjoyed the card. Trust you and David are well. Cheers, Patrizzio! Thank you so much for the greetings Patrizzio!
