Arrivederci Falcon Beach Fontainebleu Hello Feline Blues: Friday, May 19th!

The thing that makes you exceptional, if you are at all, is inevitably that which must also make you lonely. -Lorraine Hansberry, playwright and painter (19 May 1930-1965)

Up at 5:35 am after a pretty good sleep, although the disco strobe was flashing through the Sun Room window at 2:30 am! Had heard Lady Dar coughing and blowing her nose, on the living room couch closest to where I was sleeping, a few minutes before I became fully conscious. I assumed she'd relocated from her Mom's bedroom, at some point, not wanting to disturb her. Furthermore, here she could read, slight compensation for how rough she has been feeling, over the last few days, as her congestion continues, seemingly unabated.

[Happy 60th, Brunello! All the Best and More to a Cool Jazz Hipster from Lady Dar and Patrizzio! Hip Hip Hooray! For He's a Jolly Good Fellow!] Thanks to both of you, much appreciated. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Hello Bridge Folk! Thanks to both Judy Blue and Spiller Road Folk for offering to host. I will make an executive decision and suggest we gather at the home of Jack Rabbit and Phillipo as we met fairly recently at Judy Blue's place. Please let the group know if this is not to be the case, otherwise see you on Spiller Road, at 6:30 pm, on Thursday, May 25th. Judy Blue, you are welcome to ride with us. 6:10 pm, as usual? I count six confirmed players as of this writing. Any Summerlanders? Michaelo, are you back? Let me know and we'll plan accordingly.

Uncle Giorgio will drive us into Winnipeg around noon today. He has an errand to run, as do we, [We want to leave a present for Kellan, new grandchild of my cousin, Sally, at Wildwood Park.], before he drops us off at the airport. Will be quite a long day of travel as when Sarge collects us at YVR he will drop us off in front of Ragin' Bull's place where our car has been parked ever since early Sunday morning. Then we must needs high-tail it back to Penticton. Friends, Pat and Amos, from Walnut Creek, California, will already be there, sleeping we assume, as it will be, I hope, between 11:00-12:00 pm by the time we arrive. Wonder if Etta and Duke will be happy to see us or have moved in with Dame Judi, their care-giver while we were away! Fondestos from Lady Dar, still fighting a nasty cold. Think she is simply exhausted with everything. See everyone soon. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Naramatia! Trust you are both well. Unfortunately, Lady Dar is still fighting a nasty, nasty cold/cough. Think she is simply exhausted with/by everything. We have a barrel tasting at Black Widow on Saturday morning, at 9:45 am, and I was wondering if either of you would fill in for her as I don't think she'll be up for it, after today's marathon travel. If you could let me know as soon as possible as I'll need to let Dick know if I'll be only one. Thanks. Cheers, Patrizzio! Hi Patrick, You and I are both suffering from Sick Wife Syndrome. Lynne not only has a horrible cold but the cold seems to have set off her horrible stabbing pains that seem to be sinus-related.

I have a busy day Saturday so will have to regretfully decline the barrel tasting. We're looking forward to seeing you and the Israeli contingent for dinner Saturday evening. Hope your long travel day goes well. Please thank your suffering wife for her Facebook post. Cheers from the bench. Peter
Patrick and Corinne, What an efficient family, getting the ashes scattered right away. Our family tradition is to keep them on a shelf in the garage for years. My great aunt Kathleen’s waited about 25 years, and Dad’s 4 years, until they were all buried alongside Mom’s ashes when she was ready. Peter

Hi Jugos! Sorry to hear about Lynne. Lady Dar's illness started out as a nasal infection. Anyway, even sorrier that you won't be able to join me but will make up for it on Saturday. That being said, if Lynne is feeling poorly, perhaps we shouldn't come over. I'm sure Pat and Amos would understand and we can simply stay close to home for the sake of both ailing  wives! Anyway, let me know and we'll plan accordingly BUT, and I stress this, it isn't a big deal to cancel, under circumstances. Nothing worse than having to appear chipper when you are suffering.

I still have half of Sharktooth Annie's ashes and she died over five years ago! No Nonsense Rosita wanted to scatter Dusty's ashes while everyone was still at Falcon. We are bringing back a small portion as Lady Dar wants to sprinkle them in the extension to our vegetable garden as well as over the planter where she put the tulip bulbs her Dad gave her, from his own flower garden, almost two years ago now. Must away, as time to board. Will be in touch on Saturday and see what you want to do. Fondestos to Lynne. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi again, Dick! Sorry for the late notice BUT Corinne seems to have come down with a relapse to a very nasty bug. She thought she was over it but, if anything, she is worse. That being the case she will not attend the tasting tomorrow. However, I will. Sorry for the late notice but when I first replied she thought that she would be fine. Matter is even more complicated as we are just about to board our flight, in Winnipeg, to return to Vancouver and then drive home to Penticton! I'll need her share tomorrow! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hey Patrick, You just received a message from Lou to thank you for your donation. Click the link below to view Lou's page and view your message: greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/LouRutherford Thank you for your support to fight kids' cancer! Have a fantastic day. Great Cycle Challenge Team Patrick Dunn “Bravo Luigi! Onward!! Fight!! Cheers, Patrizzio!” Lou “Patrick you are my model for biking. If I can bike a small fraction of what you do I'll be happy. Thank you for you support!”

Patriçio, I should have made you stay for dinner, The chicken sautéed in veggies & Hoisin and garlic mashed potatoes were fabuloso! Anyway, trust you made it home safe and sound, and Penticton is still there - above water. I take custody of the canine+monster truck around the end of the month (Rebecca is going to Croatia for a few weeks - me envious) so we’ll connect soon about a short visit to pick up the cabinet and show Juno the KVR. Would Duke like to run along with us?

— unrelated — Pic below is the battery from my Beats Studio2 headphones. It’s dead. Don’t hold a charge. One issue with the Beats headphones is that they don’t work in “passive” mode - that is, they only work on the battery, with noise reduction on. Ok, so if I had the “Studio” model, you just pop the flap on the left side and slip in a couple of AAAs. BUT, mine are the later model “improved” Studio 2 (!), so it took a u-tube video and my micro screwdriver set to get to the battery. Hope I can put them back together again. Got a battery coming ... I figured the $40 (new) lithium polymer battery from Germany was a safer bet than the used Li-ion from China. Btw, the Li-polymer bateries have been around at least 3 years now, so why do Li-ion still even exist?

On the plus side, the Beats sound *great*.Cant’ wait for my next plane ride and zap that swooshing sound. The second pic is the “funnel” or watchamacallit that feeds into the drip dray on the fridge. The repair guy replaced it in 2 minutes, then spent 30 minutes steaming off the ice build up behind the panel at the back of the freezer drawer. Required removing the entire freezer drawer. NOW IF, that “thing” was made out of metal (ahhhh ,,, sacrilege) it might add $0.75 to the retail cost of the fridge.

Hi Ragin'! Sorry it's taken me a bit to reply but it has been a whirlwind ever since we said hello and good by today! Trust things are going well for you in spite of your Beats Studio2 headphones and funnel/whatchamacallit! Will talk, anon, about cabinet removal visit. Duke is already doing sprints on the front sidewalk to ready himself for the KVR. He spits on canines!!! By the way, Lady Dar was in stitches over your comments on the Marriagemobile! Take care of yourself, Ragin' Bull. Fondestos from Lady Dar! Cheers, Il Conduttore/Patrizzio! Pic: Farewell at Falcon!
