Random Hill Climb on the Elliptical Blues: Friday, May 12th!

You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you. -Eric Hoffer, philosopher and author (1902-1983)

Glorious sleep-in, not up until 9:30 am, after Lady Dar had left to meet Agneta at the Sylvia Hotel! Of to FCCC to ride the Wild Elliptical shortly.

Good Morning! My name is Patrick Dunn and I would like to inform UBC Parking that I have changed my vehicle. I am now the owner of a black, 2013 GM Equinox. Please remove my former vehicle, a Titanium Green 2007 Ford Escape, from my account. Thank you, in advance, for your attention to this matter. Certainly much appreciated. Cheers, Patrick!

Hi Kasia! Thank you so much for the very speedy response. Very much appreciate your efficient effort and helpfulness indeed! All the best. Cheers, Patrick.

Sorry to hear of Dusty's passing, but as you said "..he had a pretty good kick at the can..". Last Saturday, my cousin Don Nicolson and his wife Cyndi dropped over unexpectedly to visit with us. Just by luck, our daughter Kaitlyn and her baby Kellan (b. Feb 19, 2017) were also visiting at the time.

Don is a very talented and accomplished architect, and graduated with the Gold Medal from the U. of M. back in the early '70's. He just sold his company to Stantec Engineering, and now works solo as a self-employed architect. Cyndi was once a public school teacher and has published several books for young children. They live together on Bowen Island, B.C., and were here in Winnipeg to visit Liidi and Ed Barker. Liidi and Ed are the parents of Ted Barker, who is an old friend and acquaintance of our son Tiernan. By the way, Ted's grandfather was instrumental in planning the Winnipeg flood way/by pass, and he also inspired some of his grandson's art. Here's a link to some of Ted's work.

Hope all's well with you and yours. I gotta' go now and pick up Sally. Y'all have a great weekend. I took these photos during the family gathering last Saturday. I'll let you guess who's who.

Had a grand stint on the elliptical, managing to expend but just a few calories short of 1,000 over 70 minutes. Seawall still isn't finished so I had to go the long way round, both coming and going, watching all the tourists taking snaps of the Canada Geese ducklings. Back to JT's to shower and change and then make myself a large brunch as I knew we wouldn't be eating until the wine and cheese at SLAIS later that afternoon. Once Lady Dar was back from her visit with Agneta I took down the wine which we were serving at the event. We had to be at UBC by just before 4:00 pm to help unload wine glasses, table clothes, Perrier water, and the like, as well as set up the room for the gathering. Fortunately, for us, the rain, which had been forecast, had not materialized so decanting the cars went smoothly.

You need a good laugh right nowJ Love Tina

NO ONE HAS BILL BOARDS LIKE CANADA...

Hi TNT! Thank you both for your kind words and condolences. Much appreciated. [Quite enjoyed the billboards. As you mentioned, a good chortle, or two, always helps!] That being said, things have gone very well here.

Hello to one and all. Clarisse has asked me to send along her thanks to you both for your condolences and expressions of sympathy. She seems to be coping very well, under the circumstances and with Pamela and George both close by she will still have plenty of support once everybody else is gone. On another sad note, Greg's father, John, died three days after Dusty so his family will be having the funeral next week. [Hard to say but probably a blessing as he had been barely alive fro more than a year and it has taken quite a toll on Eva, his wife, as you can well imagine.] Pretty draining for all concerned, of course. Fondestos from Lady Dar. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Patrick James Dunn I walked back from using the elliptical at FCCC, GI, this morning and passed a family with about nine chicks!
