Last Ditch Olga Polga Grand Slam Blues: Tuesday, April 9th!

Inside my empty bottle I was constructing a lighthouse while all the others were making ships. -Charles Simic, poet (b. 9 May 1938)

Hi Colleen and Al! Thank you both for your thoughts and kind words. Much appreciated. Has been pretty hectic for last few days as you can well imagine. At any rate, yesterday Corinne finally managed to figure out our flights to Winnipeg once we learned when Duty's funeral was to take place. Will leave on Sunday morning for the funeral on Wednesday, 17th, then back to Vancouver on Friday, the 19th. Going to be a long day as we have to drive back to Penticton to host friends, next day, who will be at Library School reunion and then visiting Banff afterwards.

We had planned to drive into city tomorrow but simply too many things to do now that we will be away for almost two weeks. Fortunately, for us, a good friend will move in to take care of Etta and Duke so that is a load off our minds, given everything else. Loads more to tell but will wait until we can chat in a more leisurely fashion. Unfortunately, the weekend of July 21st is already fully booked with pushy Freeloaders, Flamin' and Sarge, together with their friends visiting from Newfoundland so I trust we can find another time as we'd dearly love to see you.

Would love to pop down to Belize to share the good life but that will have to wait until I cash in my winning Lotto ticket! Congratulations on your continuing hard work and just rewards. I am sure I speak for Lady Dar when I say we are very proud of your remarkable perseverance and tremendous accomplishments! Bravo! Onward!! Fight!!! Let us know what other dates might work and we'll plan accordingly.

Must away as I'm putting Varathane on last two units of shelving. Finished staining two of the units yesterday and put a coat of Varathane on the one Lady Dar had managed to complete before Pamela and Chloë arrived and then the news of Dusty's death. Fondestos from Lady Dar, in absentia, working all day for the NDP at one of the polling stations. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Monique and Pamela at Painted Rock, on Sunday, where Lady Dar has a wedding on this terrace, in June; Open House at SORCO, Gallagher Lake, after Painted Rock and Noble Ridge; Dame Judith, minder for Etta and Duke, Sunday evening; Ragin's shelves! Note "lip" on sections for vinyl, cut and installed, yesterday, with great difficulty, [When is Ragin' coming back?], by me! Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Ragin's' Dream Das Boot!
Hi Ragin'! Thanks for your understanding and flexibility! Certainly appreciate the fact that the wilted spinach will be frozen for future culinary delights! Also appreciate offer of parking and chauffeuring. I will let you know once we hit town and have a better idea of possibilities for parking at Harbour Terrace and whether Flamin' or Sarge will take us to airport. Sarge's 60th surprise birthday party night before so not sure what shape either will be in! We are staying in another neighbour's condo. Jo-Anne Trueman is away and we were to pick her up at YVR on Sunday evening before our plans changed! I passed along your phone number to Sarge. Given that he hasn't phoned he probably doesn't want the wine so go ahead and polish it off! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Patriçio, Glad to see you were able to put the finishing touches on the shelf units! Forgot to mention … If the stars aline, and I get a chance to visit next month, I would have Rebecca’s monster truck - not as much fun as my bimmer, but if you really don’t want that cabinet unit in the rec room and the associated watchamacallit, We could negotiate a deal! Branko

Sending you our love Corinne. See you at the service. Sandee Hi Sandee and Arv! Thanks for your condolences. Certainly appreciate your sympathy. Fondestos from Lady Dar to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio! Where are you putting them? See you two on the 17 Sandee In the Rumpus Room, against the inside wall!
