Hello Long Lost Bridgers, et al! Many thanks to Theresa for joining us at the last minute to allow at least one table this evening. Terribly sorry to hear of your nasty fall, Dianne, and trust you are fully recovered. Thanks, as well, to Dame Judith and Michaelo for putting their bidding dreams on hold tonight. Susannah and Theresa played extremely well and parlayed most of their hands into winning bids so congratulations to them for taking home all the bridge prizes! Hosting for next week, on Monday, again, is up for grabs so let me know if someone is interested and I'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: The Sisterhood!
Hi Toshi! Trust you and your Mother are well. I had the following message from Shana, at Upper Bench. You probably remember chatting with her when we tasted at Upper Bench: Hello! Hope you are both doing well. I'm reaching out to inquire about potentially introducing our daughter Chloe to your friend (room mate) from Japan, we met her during your recent visit to the tasting room. If at all possible, it would be great for Chloe to have a contact in Tokyo. Our Chloe will be traveling to Tokyo May 22 until 29th after visiting Singapore and Vietnam with friends. The airport she'll be flying into is called Narita, the Tokyo part of her trip she will be on her own. I know it is a long shot, but I thought, why not, if it works out great, if not, no harm done. Thank you. Shana Miller

Funnily enough we thought of her last night as we enjoyed their You and Me Brie when I hosted bridge. I told her that I felt you would be absolutely delighted to be in contact with Chloe! I trust this is still the case.
If this is so I'd like to forward your phone number and email address. As well, is Messenger a better way to be in touch? I've asked Shana to pass along Chloe's email address to me so that I can send it to you so that you can communicate directly after that and make your own arrangements. Thanks, of course.
On the home front, we are both very well. As I think you know, I underwent right shoulder replacement surgery on March 12th and couldn't be more pleased with result. I'm to see my specialist on April 25th, [six weeks, post-op], and hope to begin rehab physio if he feels shoulder is ready by then. I have had my arm in a sling since surgery except when doing tri-daily gentle hand/arm exercises or showering. Not a shred of pain or discomfort, [Only Upper Bench wine to dispel soreness!], so I feel incredibly fortunate that this has been the case. Assume this might change, somewhat, when more vigorous stretching of the joint, muscles and tendons begins. Lady Dar has become difficult Nurse Ratched and is looking forward to me slinging my sling away more than I am!

We have visitors from England/France arriving later this afternoon for a couple of nights and then they will join us at Spirit Ridge, in Osoyoos, for the Easter weekend, along with Clan Sutherland so it should be fun. Anyway, let me know what you think about about being in touch with Chloe and I'll proceed accordingly. Fondestos from Lady Darjeeling to you and your Mother. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Shana! Lovely to hear from you. Trust you and Gavin are both well. Funnily enough we thought of you last night as we enjoyed your You and Me Brie when I hosted bridge. Of course, I know Toshi would be absolutely delighted to be in contact with "your" Chloe! [Ours is Chloƫ, as you might know.] In fact, when I took her to the airport the day she flew back to Vancouver, en route to Tokyo, she reiterated that if your daughter decided she'd like to be in touch she would be more than happy to be her contact, and gave me permission to give her email address to any of our friends/acquaintances who might be travelling to Japan.
Her full name is Toshiko Takagaki , [We call her Toshi, as you will already know.], here is her local cell number, [Chloe will have to figure out how this works, in country, as phone technology, of almost any sort, in foreign countries, is often beyond Little Old Luddite Me!], and her email address. I'll also ask her about Messenger as she often is in touch this way. If you pass along Chloe's email address to me I will send Toshi a message, reminding her who Chloe is and then they can communicate directly after that and make their own arrangements. Anyway, let me know what you think and I'll proceed accordingly. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Don't piss off your neighbours! Hope you are well. Tanti buon auguri! Douguccio Hi Gran Duggacio! Trust you are well. What have you been up to, of late? Let me know, Miss you guys, Hugs Corinne Hope everyone is safe and well on Burns St Take care, Patrick. Hi Glasgow! Trust you are well. Thanks for your concern. Fondestos from Lady Darjeeling to you, Glasgow, and Catherine! Stay well. Happy Easter! Cheers, Patrizzio!
WE DID IT !!! Last week seven hardy souls ascended the northern flank of Blue Mountain in search of the elusive lake that shows on the topo map but had not, as far as I know, been explored by our group. After 3.5 hours and 10 km our efforts were rewarded with lunch on the shore of the lake in beautiful sunshine.
Jim is still away so, unless someone else would like to lead a hike, you are stuck with me for the next few weeks. This week I propose that we explore another lake at the north end of Cartwright Mountain near Summerland - we went there last year. This hike will be much shorter than last weeks hike - less than 8 km round trip. So, as usual, Penticton and south people meet at the Home Hardware parking lot at 8:40 for carpooling to Summerland IGA. Summerlanders meet at the IGA at 9:00 AM. I would appreciate a reply if you plan to attend. Peter
