Work saves us from three great evils: boredom, vice, and need. -Voltaire, philosopher (21 Nov 1694-1778)
Dear Friends Thanks for the nice "situation report". If we understand correctly, you are having an exciting time and the 23rd of November is coming ... surely all a bit nervous ..!?! Also, your visit remains in the best memory ... Thank you for the great time we were allowed to share with you. We wish you all the best and a special greeting to Chloe. We both wish her only the very best! Lots of love Annemarie and Rudy
Hi Famiglia Bartlome! Thank you for the kind wishes for Chloë. Pleased to report that she continues to do well. This past Tuesday morning she and Lady Dar left for a night in Kelowna. Chloë received a gift certificate for a hotel there, at one of her last work business meetings, this summer, so this is her Last Hurrah before giving birth! Induction is only a few days away now as it is scheduled for this coming Saturday. I attended her last ultrasound on Monday. Lady Dar has been with her over last few but she was on deck at Soupateria, (Charity providing lunch for homeless.), that morning.
Pics: The Sisterhood before leaving for Kelowna, in front of mantle decorated for Christmas. Pointsettia, brought back from shopping spree, and a Rupert Bear Advent Calendar we already had. Not for current year but it is family favourite. I read the books when I was a child. Disc to be moved. Will need to re-arrange humming bird sculpture from current location. Baby's room to be!
Hi Wayne, How are you? Would you like your case shipped this fall or are you picking up at the winery this weekend from 1pm-3pm each day? Thanks, Dallas Thor, Terravista Vineyards I will have it picked up at the winery. Corey or Pat can one of you pick up my wine please. Thanks Wayne Hi Sarge, Dallas and Kid Chelene! We can collect latest release as we have our own to pick-up. Cheers, Patrizzio! Thanks Sarge
We moved the hanging disk Lady Dar bought at a PAG find-raiser last June. Big Al hung it when he and Colleen were here in August. I wanted it higher on the wall so that people would not bump into it but Lady Dar overruled me, as she always has to have her imperious way! At long last she acknowledged it needed to be higher! [Earlier, I had contemplated handing out bike helmets to guests at Open House!]
Where it had been affixed there were studs to tap into so it was rather easy to install. However, moving it up proved to be more complicated as top two screws were into Gyproc, so required butterfly plugs. Of course I didn't have any so had to make a trip to Rona. Back home I couldn't manage to set them so called Mr Fixit, Stormin' Norman, from across back lane and he didn't have any difficulty finishing the job! Filled the screw holes that had been exposed before I went to bed.
Greetings! Okanagan Mountain Maid has contributed 2hrs of cleaning to the The South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre's online auction! Must
away as Lady Dar has a long list of chores waiting for me. One involves
bringing in a large ladder to change where we have a piece of art work
hanging in the living room. Originally, I suggested it should be
attached further up the wall so that one wouldn't bump into it, but was
overruled, with royal contempt! Then I have to empty our four rain
barrels, [Need to attach a short hose to each outlet valve so water
drains away from house.], as don't want water to freeze inside.
Temperatures have started to drop below freezing, of late. Last year I
thought there was enough room for ice to expand but one cracked so we
had to replace it.
Fondestos
from Lady Dar, just back from Chloë's where she brought back a car-full
of things for the room which we call "the office" which will now
function as the baby's room, whenever child is here, over the winter, whether for the day or overnight.
Most of items are from friends who used them with their own newborns.
All the best. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio!
