For the newborn and wise, everything begins small. ― Suzy Kassem
Hello The Strong, Strong Sisterhood! Love and Congratulations, again, Chloë, for delivering such a lovely, lovely, handsome, handsome little chap! Hip Hip Hooray! For He's a Jolly Good Fellow!!! Thanks, as well, to Katie, for all your continuing friendship and generous support. Trust you managed some sleep last night and that your drive back to Vernon, this morning, went well. Thanks, of course, to G-Nana/Nana for all her on-site patience and experienced care. How did last night go? Was everyone able to get any sleep?
At any rate, I'm waiting for a call, whenever it suits and I'll come to the hospital. Let me know what you might like me to bring, in terms of food or drink, or anything else, for that matter. Must away to put another log on the fire so house is cosy for Lady Dar when she comes home for a bit of break, perhaps to have a snooze with Duke! Much, much Warm Love to Rowan James and his Proud Mother and even Prouder Grandmother! Cheers, Grandfather/Dad/Patrizzio! Pics: Last night with Rowan James and Co.
Hello Lady Dar and Mama Pajama! Here are the phone numbers to call: Brad at Nu-Floors; Paula Caldwell, (at All Seasons?), Alphonso at Edward Jones. Chat soon. Love and Cheers to Rowan James! Pics: From this morning! Thanks for the photos! I left Chloe’s at 6 this morning and it was a dark but fine drive home. At work but very tired! Thank you for the salad and wine last night. I’m glad that we got to wait for the news together! ❤️ Give mama and that sweet boy a squeeze for me today. Xo Katie
Hi Early Morning Commuter! Glad was fine. Yes, indeed, it was simply wonderful to have you at home to receive and share the wonderfully, wonderfully exciting news! I popped back to the hospital around 9:00 am this morning as Chloë wanted the breast pump and related paraphernalia. The night went fairly well for all three of them. Lady Dar held Rowan from 4:00 am to 6:00 am so that Chloë could try to get a bit of rest. She had him in crib beside bed but couldn't really sleep as whenever he made a noise she jerked awake if she was dozing. Nurses were wonderful, however. Lady Dar had a pillow over her head at one point, so Chloë didn't wan to wake her and called night duty nurse to give her RJ!
When I arrived one of the nurses was feeding Rowan from a small cup and he ate about an ounce of formula and then proceeded to fall into a deep, contented sleep! Earlier, they jabbed his tiny heel, [He didn't even squeak!], to check his blood sugar. It was a bit low so that is why the feeding occurred. I held him while Lady Dar went to cafeteria for bacon as she loves the way it is done there. Unfortunately, for her, only sausages this morning.
While she was away the nurse returned and explained how the breast pump should be handled, etc. Chloë tried but nothing expressed before I left. She is to repeat every two or three hours and Rowan's blood sugar will be checked at around the same time interval, to ensure all is well. Lady Dar had already changed two rather "tar" diapers before I arrived and he was also sneezing so he seems to be expelling what needs to be expelled. Once this phase is more or less complete, the nurse felt he would probably feel hungry and perhaps start to latch.
I'll probably head back to the hospital when Lady Dar feels she needs a bit of a break. Otherwise, all goes exceedingly well an we are beginning to settle in to the new rhythm of having the care and feeding of Rowan James. Hello and Fondestos to all the Vernon Contingent. Stay well. Chat soon. Thanks and Cheers, Poppa Patrizzio! PS:When you have a moment could you send along any snaps you took when we were all together at the hospital last night. Thanks! Pics: Rowan James and The Adoring Sisterhood! I gave squeezes as ordered!
