An Orchard of Galas and The Drying Rack Blues: Friday, November 15th!

Poetry is the art of creating imaginary gardens with real toads. -Marianne Moore, poet (15 Nov 1887-1972)

Main Street, Penticton 1962
Hi Big Al: Looks like there is a certain amount of disagreement about the historical snap you sent along!  zellers is long gone ... Hotel burnt down 15 yrs ago ....its been a 1 way for 40 trs ...... 2 yrs ago became 3 lane wide sidewalk street f .... Drug store is gone Nevertheless, fascinating to see street from a historical perspective. Must away as I'm putting another batch of Galas into dehydrator. If I've time, going to make a pot of Pumpkin Coconut Curry soup, [with rest of pumpkin I prepared last week], to try out the recipe from Nautical Dog Café, (a new restaurant, located at the marina on Skaha Lake), which was voted best soup of the PAG Soup Bowls evening last night. Cheers, Patrizzio!

A Bump Along the Way
Hi Chloë, et al! I didn't know you were starring in a new Irish film! Bronagh Gallagher is Pamela, 44-year-old mum of teenager Allegra. After a one-night stand, Pamela finds herself pregnant and forced to deal with the reality of being what her doctor calls a "geriatric mother."

The second Vancouver Irish Film Festival kicks off with a Gala Reception featuring an Irish Traditional Session with the Trad Lads and the Pretty Regulars, Irish Dancing, Jameson drink samples, Taytos and Irish Food Stall.

This is the actress from The Commitments from a million moons ago. Hi Entertainment Tonight Reporter! Does this mean that there is an acting career in your future? I wondered why Ayn was jetting in to Penticton so soon after scheduled birth. Now I understand she is your agent and will be bringing contracts for you to sign. At least you'll be able to afford your own weed-eater! I trust G-Nana and G-Poppa will receive signing bonuses! Love from your fan club!

Hello Advent Calendarites! Trust everyone is well. Funnily enough, I was chatting to the President, Kevin Ritcey, of the South Okanagan Whiskey Tasting Society, (SOWTS), a few days ago. He and his wife, Judi, are good friends and they were over for drink as Judi was helping Lady Dar with some SOWTS mailings, [LD is Secretary], and while The Sisterhood were working, Kevin and I were sipping! He happened to mention that Judi bought him the Advent Calendar as his Christmas present.

We are off to the Dream Café tomorrow evening, with them, to hear the Mike Field, [jazz trumpeter], Quintet and then to a SOWTS Tasting Event on SUnday. [Have appended the Tasting Notes.] Cheers/Slàinte, Patrizzio! Pics: Had a marvellous evening, on Thursday, at the Penticton Art Gallery's Soup Bowls event. SOWTS Tasting Notes: Typically, Bourbon is featured as a nod to coming US Thanksgiving. With each tasting the toast is Impeach Trump! [Cheers! Sacramento State University] Thank you Patrick for the local update! Lovely! We’re looking forward to the new baby very soon and can’t imagine how happy you folks are!!!!! Been a long time coming. Christmas this year with Chloe’s newborn will be magical I’m sure. Peace to you all, talk soon. Much love, Colin and Gail ✌️❤️✊️

pat: thanks for the update (blow by blow). how’s chloe doing? what is the actual due date? can you forward her email address/contact info please. fyi: we had a wonderful time in the uk. everyone behaved and throughly enjoyed the itinerary. scotland bears much deeper investigation… mom held up very well, only one minor impact day when we travelled from somerset to the lake district. quick recovery however. in spite of many visits i’m still constantly awed by the presence of such deep history on every corner. makes me worry (on top of everything else) for the future in north america when you consider our approach to historical fabric (replace it!). too sad to ponder just now. i’ll revel in it where and when i can.

all good on the coast (in wpg today, big sister shauna in for weekend visiting mom and doing an engagement party with friends from toronto). kids back in the saddle and alex riding herd. staying still for christmas with no visitors. can’t recall a time ever when that happened historically. all our best to the girls. stay well and don’t forget to breathe. … and to quote robert di nero, “…FUCK TRUMP” (shit stain of an embarrassment, blight on the country and a continuing saga of “you have GOT to be kidding”) regards, kevin
