Tree Light-up, Stephen Fearing and the Car Seat Blues: Friday, November 22nd!

Oh, would that my mind could let fall its dead ideas, as the tree does its withered leaves! -Andre Gide, author, Nobel laureate (22 Nov 1869-1951)

David Kessler: Good luck to Chloe! Patrick James Dunn Countdown starts soon as she has to phone hospital tomorrow morning, around 7:00 am, to find out about receiving drugs that are intended to induce birth process! She will return home until contractions start. If nothing happens she will return to hospital on Sunday for another round of same drugs. If nothing happens then she will return to hospital to start a drip to stay until birth occurs! Lady Dar has already packed a bag to have ready to take to Chloë's place once she is home. Exciting times indeed! David Kessler I bet Chloe is pretty keyed up. Going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, sort of....Chloe Alexis Dunn David Kessler sounds about right!! ❤️ No more Facebook updates please

Hi Ragin'! Trust all goes well with respect to your on-going anti-seizure protocols. Will miss you, however, [apart from firewood muleage and endless shelf building], as we are having our Annual Open House Christmas Bash on Saturday, December 14th. We'll have to have a Summer counterpart when you are able to drive and visit. Going to be quite a time this year as final countdown for giving birth starts soon as Chloë phones hospital tomorrow morning, around 7:00 am, to find out about receiving drugs that are intended to induce birth process! She will return home, with Lady Dar, until contractions start. If nothing happens she will return to hospital on Sunday for another round of the same drugs. If nothing happens then she will return to hospital on Monday to start a drip and stay until birth occurs! Lady Dar has already packed a bag to have ready to take to Chloë's place once she is home. Exciting times indeed!

Must away as I have scads of other household chores to accomplish. Just sanded the holes I filled last night. Lady Dar will touch them up as soon as she finishes off the last batch of pickled beets we were preserving yesterday. Will end up with a dozen quart jars.
While ladder is in the house I will need it while vacuuming sky-light  as there are a few cobwebs I can't reach from floor level. Lady Dar is involved, with GFA and the Christmas Tree Light-up ceremony, downtown, this evening. Before that, this afternoon, Chloë has to return her company car and then the three of us will go to the home of a woman with is authorized to install an infant car seat, to be used for first three months.

[Hi Desirae, Friday afternoon is great, could we meet before 3? My parents car is one of the cars that i want to install a base in and they need to be somewhere at 4. They drive a 2019 Hyundai Kona and I have a 2009 Ford Escape. My car-seat is a Graco Snug CK 35. Looking forward to meeting you, let me know what time for Friday. Thank you!! Chloë Chloe, Yes that works. I could do 2pm on Friday. Here is my address. See above for 2pm car seat consultation. Info about appointment  at 2pm. Where to park etc.]

We need to be along to make sure we know what to do when changing to next seat. I have tickets for The Dream this evening to hear Stephen Fearing. Once Lady Dar is finished with Light-up she join me at The Dream. Chloë will head home to compose herself for coming induction!

Have you organized any bridge games? We enjoyed two tables last Monday, hosted by Judy Blue. Am working on hosting this coming Monday but will depend on when Chloë gives birth, obviously. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio/Il Conduttore! PS: News Flash! Just had a call from Chloë, from the hospital. She felt quite nauseated this morning so her doctor asked her to have some blood work done. Breaking news so not sure what rest of the day will hold. Stay tuned!
[Alan Waldron Oh no..poor girl, hope she feels better soon and for the big day!!
Carol Riera Hope she feels better soon and the birth goes well! 🙏❤️🎉] Pics: Disc's new location, awaiting painting touch-up. Hummingbird centrale! Beets!

Glad to hear you had some help..and yes I thought it was a tad low ..perhaps we should put it in a real block and tackle so we can raise and lower it depending on the mood of the beholder! Another glorious but bit chilly day in the coast. Went out for a nice dog walk and now onto my power up bench project. Have a great day and love to all.

Hi Big Al! Yes, help is always appreciated! [Earlier, I had contemplated handing out bike helmets to guests at Open House, December 14th!] Trust all goes well with respect to your power-up bench project. Just back from our car seat tutorial with very pleasant young woman, Desirae, who only lives a few blocks from Chloë. She took us through all the steps of adjusting the removable seat to fit a newly-born and then attaching seat base to back seat. Didn't realize that newer models have plates, underneath back seat back, that anchors on seat base clip into so regular seat belts are not necessary, although you can use them as well. Removable seat snaps easily into place on base. Glad we had tutorial as not really an intuitive set-up.

Back home to load car with all the decorations, etc., [along with two large urns of mulled apple juice that smelled fabulous!], that Lady Dar needed downtown to set up the table GFA are having at the tree light-up this evening. After I helped with some of the initial set-up I waved goodbye and drove to Pacific Quorum to collect Chloë as she turned in her company vehicle. When I arrived I asked her if she was living out of her car she had so much stuff! Took her home. I might pick her up when I return to help Lady Dar load everything back into car. Beckster might join Chloë at tree-lighting so if so she'll go with her. In any event, will have to be sharpish as we have tickets for The Dream this evening to hear Stephen Fearing. Chloë will head home to compose herself for coming induction, next morning!

As mentioned, Lady Dar was involved, with GFA and the Christmas Tree Light-up ceremony, downtown, that evening. Around 2:00 pm the three of us went to the home of a woman with is authorized to install an infant car seat, to be used for first three months. We needed to be along to make sure we know what to do when changing to next seat. As Chloë wanted to see Christmas tree in Nanaimo Square, I picked her up shortly before Lady Dar was finished with Light-up and we helped her load car. She joined me at The Dream and Chloë walked home. Stephen was simply fabulous. First time I had eve seen him live. He has a wonderful, wonderful stage presence and his stories are mesmerizing. His guitar playing is something to hear, for me at least, remarkable, and his lyrics, intelligent and most powerful, deeply emotional and painfully honest. Couldn't have had better seats so it was an evening to remember.

We enjoyed two tables of bridge last Monday, hosted by Judy Blue. Am working on hosting this coming Monday but will depend on when Chloë gives birth, obviously. Must away as I need to shower and change and ready myself for the rest of the evening. Fondestos to Marilyn and you, Big Al. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Car-seat tutorial! Malt tasting last Sunday!

Dear Patrick, This email made me think of you both. I arrived in Vancouver late last night. All is well here apart from the fact that living in a building site is not much fun! More anon. I await news of Chloe’s delivery to her two proud parents. Let’s at least speak soon. Much love to you both, Rosemary XXX Hi Super Volunteer Woman! Trust you are well. No time to volunteer, however.Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio!

I will need them for Jun 30 to July 5. I also could use a couple of coffee carafes as well. Thanks Teresa
