Nuvista, Ultrasound and the Two-Table Blues: Monday, November 18th!

Physicists are made of atoms. A physicist is the atom's way of knowing about atoms. -George Wald, scientist and Nobel laureate (18 Nov 1906-1997)

Hello again, Fabulous Temperate Clime People! Pleased you are enjoying milder, blood-thinning climate! With respect to "blessed birth", if all goes as medically expected Chloƫ will be induced, in less than a week now, on November 23rd, given her age, 43, and baby's size. From ultrasounds, a bruiser at 9 lbs, so far! Her place is pretty much set up for new arrival and we are hoping that work will start on basement suite in next week or so. In fact, I'm meeting her at the hospital today as she is having a regular ultrasound. Lady Dar has been with her over last few but she is on deck at Soupateria this morning.

Had a grand time at SOWTS yesterday evening. Sat with Tammy, [You might well know her.], a wedding planner. Had met her a few tastings before but had not had a chance to chat. She works with Dame Judith and was married to Robert Van Westen. Apparently, she started as a wedding planner after her divorce from him. And, according to her, he is currently going through his second divorce! Life continues to be Peyton Place in Naramatia!!! I believe she and Lady Dar have now networked so who knows what will happen this coming wedding season.

Two tables of bridge this evening. Are you playing regularly, these days? Must away to light a fire otherwise Lady Dar won't rise from her bed! Fondestos from Slug-a-bed to you and Lynne. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: SOWTS tasting!

Hi Pat Thanks for the recent updates! We are all excited about the imminent birth! We ordered a Roy Vickers of Tofino First Nation's  designed onesie for the baby, a design he recently did for a Grateful Dead boxed set, very pretty. Yes, I spoke yesterday with Kevin in Winnipeg as he was on his way to Noreens to see Shauna. Shauna and Danny will be with Sasha and baby Levi for Hanukkah and Christmas ion Mayne island this year. Yes, we too are very much looking forward to seeing The Irishman! Pesci, de Niro and Pacino!! Love Scorsese’s films, especially ones with de Niro and Pesci (Goodfellows and Casino). Look forward to sampling your whiskey! šŸ„ƒ best to Corrine and Chloe, peace/love colin ✌️✊️

Hello again, Colin! Great to hear that all is going well both in Winnipeg and on Mayne Island. Look forward to a visit when we can sample malt from Dubh Glas and more! Fondestos from Lady Dar  to you and Gail. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio!Pics: SOWTS tasting, with Lady Dar and Tammy; line-up!

Hi Judy and all, Hi, I'm sorry that I will not be able to join you tonight. I'm going to get a bit of rest so that means to bed early. Enjoy your evening and can't wait to see you again, Olly Patrick I am so sorry, but I won’t be able to make it tonight.  I will be there for sure next week. Hope you guys have a great game
Theresa

Had an appointment for a massage at 9:30 am and after I was as loose as a rag doll I headed over to the hospital to meet Chloƫ as she was having a regular ultrasound. Lady Dar has been with her over last few but she was on deck at Soupateria this morning. Great to have a pretty good view of the baby's face. All well so it really won't be long now as her induction is scheduled for this coming Saturday!

We bade each other goodbye in parkade and I headed home to have a bite to eat and then I suited up for a ride. Was really looking forward to the outing as it was one of the calmest days since being back from Europe. Although the wind was out of the N at 7 km/h I decided I'd head for OK Falls even if it meant bucking a head wind on return leg. Started off with my route regulare and after a dipsy-doodling off Power and then on the KVR to Vancouver Ave I headed for Skaha Lake Park for a bit more additional distance. When I had about 27 km on the clock I took Eastside all the way to OK Falls. Once there I made my way through town to Oliver Ranch Road to complete the Stag's Hollow/Wild Goose loop and then started back.

Had not ridden this route since before my operation so it was wonderful to see this part of the surrounding countryside again. Had come across three winter-coated deer just past the turn-off to Liquidity and once back on Eastside I was treated to five swans, close to the shore on Skaha so everyone was enjoying the mild day. A few more dipsy-doodles when back at SLP and then made my way north on Wilson as South Main is being worked on. Cars can still use latter but this is the temporary bike route. Really pleased that wind was not really a factor, as I had thought/hoped, so I whistled along Government and pulled up at home after being away just under four hours. Longest time away but my legs felt fine so quite pleased about that. Need to work on upping my AVG but other than that happy to be increasing my overall distance. Cheers! Map and Stats for ride:

Hello Pre-Christmas Bidders! Thanks so much to Judy Blue, [and Benny!], for hosting two tables this eveing, for the delicious nibblage and high octane, high jinks! Thanks, as well, to Lynda, for joining the group, and to O Susannah, for coming, even after she forgot it was Monday!

Next week, we are on for Monday evening, again. [Please mark it on your calendar, O Susannah and tie a string around your finger!] I'm happy to host but Lady Dar may well not be available as ChloĆ« is scheduled to be induced this coming Saturday. Depending on when delivery occurs, Lady Dar will most likely be staying with ChloĆ« and the baby, certainly for the following days, and most likely for the next little while.

Our elite kite-surfer, Michaelo, is off to Cuba, for rum, cigars and the odd wave, so he will not be available either. For the rest of you, please let me know if you will be playing and I'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Benny and The Jets and his cousin, Etta!

I WILL be there. Susan Photos nice I am able to play on Monday Judy Yes, I won’t be able to play, but with every sip of Cuban rum I will think of you guys šŸ˜Ž Thanks for good play last night. Cheers to all. Mike I am not able to play on Monday. Sorry. Dianne I’ll be there Theresa
