Olga Polga has kindly offered to host so we should arrive at her place in Summerland ready to play at 6:30 am. Judy Blue you are welcome to car pool with us. I assume rest of Pentictonites, if coming, will make their way as is convenient, although we will have room for one more should anyone wish to come with us. If so, please arrive at about 6:05 pm. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Patrick, I am unable to play this Monday night. Happy bidding! Pam Hi Pamela! Terribly sorry to hear you cannot join us. Happy All Hallows Eve...Hi Pumpkin Pervert! Have never seem an X-rated Halloween photo before. You Flinatbatty Flonitins need to be on some police list or other! Cheers, Patrizzio! Pic: Patrizzio at Van Dusen a few weeks ago! Before and after work party! Thanks for your Halloween greetings. Here is a seasonal image from our walk in Van Dusen last week, and a picture of this year’s Halloween baking. No further wildlife sightings (mice) since last week. Hopefully it was a solo rogue. Janet
Hi Ghoulish Baker! What great confections! Especially liked the gruesome fingers! Mummy, bat and cat were adoreable! Fondestos from Lady Dar and Rosita, to you, Minnie! Cheers, Patrizzio!

[Marnie and her pumpkin] Hi Trust you are all mended and back to peddling before the snow falls! We are enjoying our grandparents’ days as alas! Kian is growing and will now be attending a day care instead of entertaining us for a day a week. I love Sandra O. But honestly didn’t really enjoy Killing Eve. I just have an aversion to violence combined with quippy humour. It is too American for me and anything USA is not to my liking these days. There were enough redeeming features that I stuck to watching until the end, though. Lol

How is the new kitchen? From what I saw from the early Reno days, it will be fabulous. We are just doing a few things to update our main area... new fixtures.. I have a few things for sale on Kijiji and if they sell will replace the dining room table etc. But I don’t plan to do anything in a big rush. I trust Chloe is well nestled into her new place?? Our best to you all B

[Tris’ pumpkin] Hi Ayn! Terribly sorry to hear about poor Winston! What a lovely pooch and I can still remember you coming o pick me up after I went riding along oceanside past Venice, etc., and he was in the back seat of the car when you arrived, having just picked him out to be your faithful companion. Very tough hand to be dealt but all you can do is love him while you still can.

On a brighter note, we enjoyed a lovely 47th anniversary dinner last night, (ribs, orzo mixed with acorn squash and saladin), while Lady Dar was interrupted, from time to time, to answer door for goblins! First lad who came to the door said he was collecting treats for his mom as she was pregnant! No quite sure why he mentioned this fact! Finished first series of Killing Eve afterwards. Much love to you, Ayn, and Fondestos from The Sisterhood to one and all. Cheers, Poppa/Patrizzio! Pics: Kid Chelene and Kelsey, Robson's daughter, with Nala and Lexi, when we collected this morning. Picking Golden Delicious with Bill this afternoon! Halloween Cat and Witch talking to Tinsel Town an then handing out treats!
Thank you for the lovely words and memory of Win's first day with us...and the great pics Will be good to see all of you in two weeks xoxo

[Boo I will gratefully accept a ride. Thank you Judy Xo Hi Medusa! I'm not sure if I have enough courage to give such a scary individual a ride, especially if you are sitting behind me! Perhaps I'll let Lady Dar drive and cower in the back seat with you up front! Cheers, Still Quaking in My Boots Patrizzio! Pics: Halloween Cat and White Witch! Ha ha!! Ps Love the pic with duke and the pumpkin]

Hi Carolina and JB! Delighted to give you a lift, Carolina. Judy Blue will be hitchhiking with us as well so around 6:05 pm, at Burns Street, should be fine. We are having close friends from Squamish, Ruth and Rick, arrive on Friday and we will be playing non-stop bridge over next few days, in addition to wine-tasting, of course, so watch out on Monday as our bidding skills will be finely honed! Fondestos from Lady Dar to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio! I"ll be there, Carol

What is going on with Winston? Spumoni Apparently he is in considerable pain and medication is not helping or working. He isn't eating or sleeping as well so Ayn is faced with having pool lad put to sleep. Very sad, of course. You know all about losing pets, one way or another. We imagine/hope she will adopt another pooch once she has moved into her new condo, December 7th, I believe! Hello to Grogg! Cheers, Patrizzio!

[Hi Janet, Great pictures and wonderful creative cookies. You are such a wonderful baker. We had a pretty quiet Halloween. Mom is here for a visit so we stayed in and had a few trick or treaters.

When are you off on your next trip? Cheers Corinne]
Hello Sedona Folk! Trust all goes well. How are your various limbs, Jack Rabbit? We continue to miss you both at bridge but have managed to have two tables for last few meetings. Collected all but three large rounds today as Kid Chelene was free to drive his 4WD pick-up down Brent's driveway. Went very well and we bumped into Kelsey and Nala on Spiller just before your place as we were arriving. Took the snaps with them when they were down below. Weather was fine, a few drops only. Glad it wasn't pouring this morning as we'd have been soaked! Picked almost 250 pounds of Golden Delicious apples this afternoon and they turned out fabulously from dehydrator. If you'd like a bag or box you road runners/jet-setters are more than welcome so pop by whenever you flounce back into town! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrick and Corinne, Glad you were able to get the wood and that all is going well for you. Thanks for he photos too. I'm back from my kayak trip which went well, great people I went with, only 1 evening of rain and only did a little bit of hiking. My ankle still swollen but getting better. Biking doesn't hurt so most days and I cancelled my Grande canyon backpack for next week. Going in february instead now. Weather here as usual sunny with no rain and high 60's.
We'll keep in touch and please say hi to everyone. Do miss the bridge evenings.
bye for now hugs from Gill

Glad you were able to roll the logs downhill safely. Presumed you used a goalies hockey stick as a stopper. All is well here; Gill didn't drown and is now back in town & pestering the local bike trails, but only gently so, as her ankle hasn't yet recovered. Sunny and warm in the village (of course!) and am hoping the forecast is right cos it says more of same to come. I've been busy cleaning and fixing things like chewed up irrigation pipes while my back injury sorted itself out. Did my first hike on Tuesday and no problem so am hoping I can keep on the trails without any further relapses. Say hi to Corinne and keep yourselves in fine form. Cheers. Phil

Hello Oak Creek! Pleased to hear that all goes relatively well, in spite of swollen ankles and iffy backs! Take care of yourselves, please! No hockey sticks for logs as all but a few actually stopped on access road so things worked out spiffingly. Thanks again. Did you have any Trick-or-Treaters? Must away. Fondestos and from Lady Dar to you both. Take care of each other. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pic: Spiller haul! Good to keep in touch but I don't write much!! take care both of you Gill Thanks for the card! Roma & Leonard Hi Roma and Leonard! Hello Poltergeist Patrizio, how apt are your Halloween nicknames!! I was almost too scared to respond, haha! Thanks for the reminder that it is Halloween today. West Kelowna and the Sagebrush Blues: Tuesday, October 30th!

Just collected Lady Dar from West Kelowna and now back home. Asian chicken, (readied by Rosita and myself earlier today), just popped into oven. Orzo and vegetable, zucchini rounds, smothered in melted cheese, along with avocado and sliced tomatoe for saladin. Then Killing Eve after dinner. Lady Dar said it was ab/fab and that you couldn't tear yourselves away, in spite of Sarge's clanging and banging pots in the kitchen! Pics: Sage being readied for dehydrator! One of last Greyhound buses! Service across Canada discontinued as of tomorrow! Maybe you should start a bus company Sarge

Curtis and The Pot Light/Fire Alarm Blues: Monday, October 29th!

Certainly none of the advances made in civilization has been due to counterrevolutionaries and advocates of the status quo. -Bill Mauldin, editorial cartoonist (29 Oct 1921-2003)

Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix commemorates the July Revolution.
Dear Patrick and Corinne Hope this email finds you well. I must say I am missing CBC and CTV news so much as CNN and FOX and NBC etc are horrible. All that seems to be covered of course are the pipe bombs, synagogue shootings and helicopter crash in the UK.

Not sure if this will bore you but I actually can see why people come to Arizona for the winter--the weather at this time of the year is simply perfect. Our visit to the Grand Canyon was excellent and we did drive to Sedona, Arizona stopped for some great walks and then had a lovely lunch in Sedona overlooking Snoopy Rock. The Red Rock Canyon and the red rock formations were intriguing and with the combination of fall colors made the area and drive ever so beautiful.

Yesterday we enjoyed another grand drive to the Valley of Fire 60 miles northeast of Vegas--my kind of drive not much traffic and amazing views of the Muddy Mountains. The Valley of Fire Mesozoic rock formations were so unusual--really reminded me of the Centre in Australia. This area would be a great place for camping and I am seriously thinking it would be good to try renting a camper van for travel in the US as the temperatures are so much warmer than Canada and the evenings are delightfully balmy. Some of the places where we stopped were so so quiet and the expansive vistas rather gripping--ideal for camping.

Last night we walked a good portion of the strip--Palazzo, Mirage, Venetian hotel, Harrahs, Caesars Palace etc. With all the lights it was quite magical. We watched the water fountain lightshows at the Bellagio and these were amazing. We watched at two different times and the fountain shows were completely different with different music and patterns. Have you seen this while you were in Vegas? Kind of like a water fireworks. So beautiful. Thought you would love it. The Venetian hotel was something else. Can't get over the gondolas, St. Mark's Square etc. Also the Eiffel Tower and recreated French buildings and Caesar's Palace well its unbelievable. I couldn't convince Colin to go and see a Cirque de Soleil show--they have three here. Alas. The weather has been terrific. Going to the Luxor today and then we will end our stay at the revolving restaurant atop the Stratosphere.

Thought I would gamble but can't bring myself to do it. So will just spend my kids inheritance on frivilous activities. Have to go to the outdoor pool today as it is atop of the building really a treat--quite a different style than the Lord Byng pool. Take care and please know that we are thinking of you. After all my walking yesterday my ankle was really cranky. Hope you are out biking.
As ever your Curric Lab pal Jo-Anne

Hello Slot-Machine People! Pleased to hear you enjoyed Sedona and environs. We had a fab week there last February, staying with friends, from Penticton, who have a lovely home, in Oak Creek, just south of Sedona. I think you extracted the best possible from Vegas, Disneyland for adults. We've done much the same on our visits although never seeing any of the shows either.

Once I was back from Vancouver just had time to do a bit of laundry and then we were off to Osoyoos for the weekend. It was the AGM for Spirit Ridge and all the owners were put up for two nights with a wine/cheese reception on Friday, AGM for most of morning on Saturday and then a lovely dinner that evening. Chloë and Rosita joined us as did Sutherland's son, Corey, for Friday evening only, and their daughter, Nicole and her son Jaxon, for entire weekend.

Electrician came just after 9:00 am this morning and put in another two pot lights so that there is more illumination over dining table, put up new outside lights, one at front door, other at back door leading into garage from patio, two electric heaters, one near front entrance, other near guest bathroom and then changed two wall plugs to match new white ones. He didn't have the right wire to move firealarm from near wall oven but will be back towards the end of the week for that. Curtis works extremely efficiently and with little or no mess. Still, I will vacuum as we are having two tables of bridge this evening and need to tidy up living room anyway.

Must away as I have a few errands to run, one of which is to take in the Brodie I use with the trainer as it has a flat! Cannot imagine it picked up something between when I had new wheel put on at Freedom and me bringing home on the car rack and then wheeling it onto patio to set it up there. Must be something in tube or tire itself so if this is the case I expect there should be no charge for replacement. Anyway, always something! Fondestos from Rosita, busy looking up recipes for how we will do our salmon steaks this evening, and Lady Dar, in Vancouver for her book club, in absentia! Travel safely, soon-to-be RV winter softies! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pics: Spirit Ridge AGM weekend! Joe and Heather; Flamin' and Sarge; Daniel and Lori; Daniel was dragooned into wearing decorated chef's hat for silly contest; Last known sighting of Lady Dar!
I avoided the one-armed bandits like the plague.  Jo-Anne lost a massive sum - $4.70 - before giving up. Hi High Rollers! Trust all goes as well as possible in spite of the tight travel budget! Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Rosita with felines! Rosita with Bridge Babes!

How many are coming tonight for bridge? Hello Two Table Three-No-Trumpers! Thanks so much for all the lovely wine, Carolina and Susannah, as well as the Painted Turtles, Lady Di. We missed you, Olga Polga, (hope you are feeling better!), but I was glad Michaelao didn't show as I had The Sisterhood all to myself. No chat about next week so let me know if Monday or Thursday might work for most. Fondestos from Rosita. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Rosita with Bridge Babes! Hi Patrick. Thanks for hosting. I left the book.😱..head not on. I will come by tomorrow morning around 10 am. If you are out please leave it on the bench in front of your house. Thanks you. Dianne

Monday works for me. And I will be happy to host as my place is ready for business again. Let me know if you would like to play,. Hugs to all, OllyThsnks for invite to bridge again! Let me know if you need my presence to complete a table!! Judy Thanks Patrick. Monday works for me next week. Dianne Hi Patrick,
I might be able to help you in harassing the Sisterhood next week. Cheers Mike

Is there room for me to play tonight? Carol

Ruth P.S. Please let us know what you would like us to bring, besides wine and an appetite for bridge. I could bring a dinner, if you like.Looking forward to seeing you! Don’t worry about food. See you Friday night. Corinne

Snow on the Coquihalla Blues: Sunday, October 28th

It is a curious thing that every creed promises a paradise which will be absolutely uninhabitable for anyone of civilized taste. -Evelyn Waugh, novelist (28 Oct 1903-1966)

Breakfast Are you guys coming up?
Hello Harbour Terrace! Sorry we missed breakfast! Who won the game? Trust your drive went well. Did you forget to stop in Chilliwack for Lady Dar? I assume you had to go via the Hope-Princeton as the Coquihalla was closed for some time I gather. Heard from Corinne, via Chloë, that there was fairly heavy snow in Manning Park. I picked up a lock at Home Hardware in Osoyoos and put it on #162 so we are all set to leave stuff now. Thanks for giving me your card. I returned it to front desk when I checked-out, telling the staff member you left it at our place! Pics: Spirit Ridge AGM weekend!

We had a few showers around 2:00 pm this afternoon, shortly after we hqd driven home from Spirit Ridge, but nothing much and so I went for a good ride shortly after skies cleared. Followed my route regulare down Ellis to PTC and then Lakeshore/Riverside, hamsterizing around SOEC. Didn't want to venture too, too far afield as I was a tad worried that rain might return what with the very strong wind straight out of the South at 24 kph. Still, it was great to be in the saddle again after not having been in the saddle for almost a week, although I did use the elliptizer both in Vancouver and at Spirit Ridge. Clarisse baked a couple of dozen wonderful muffins, using some of the apples we picked, while I was out. We had chili and salad for dinner and then watched a new series, Inspector Maigret, with Rowan Atkinson, of Mr Bean fame. We both liked it even though one has difficulty separating this character from Mr Bean. Map and Stats for ride:

Hello again, Clan Sutherland! Just wanted to let you know that your presence was valued even if no snapolas of human children to prove the point! Kid Chelene, please give me a call about picking up some firewood this week, if it works. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Wednesday should work. Let’s aim for 9am? I have to drop off Avery at school first. Corey Hi Kid Chelene! Great, that sounds fine! See you around 9:00 am. As well, more apples available so if you have time we could stop by Wild Bill's place to pick a couple of boxes before we head up to Spiller Road. Give me a shout if you have time and we can plan the day. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Ended up having to go through to hey 1 as the coq was closed . Took an additional 1.5 hours but picked up your wife. Thanks for the memories. Michele
Hi Flamin'! Too, too bad about the snow but glad all went well. Kid Chelene and I are to collect firewood at Spiller Road on Wednesday, stopping at Wild Bill's for more apples beforehand. Life of a Freeloader in Penticton! Squamoids, Ruthless and Ricardo, are coming on Friday for weekend so should be fun. Fondestos to one and all from Rosita. Love and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Rosita with felines!

Job done! Dear friends, I am happy to report that the job has been completed. My initial plan was to call on a few of you, have a mini-work party to complete what was left unfinished on Friday, namely removal and disposal of all the branches from the 2 downed trees. But: our kind and very energetic two friends, Tony and Aart, with a truck only a bit larger than their hearts, beat me to it. They came on Saturday and did most of the work. THANK YOU, BOTH! There was very little left for us to complete today. Thank you. Dave S. and Jack Z., the four of us (with Jim B himself) finished the job in a short while. So, it is all done, I hope to adequate standard of quality, so we can close the chapter and call it quits. Thank you, collectively and individually, it was a privilege to be a part of the crew. Safe trip to Victoria, Jim, and good luck! Al

Hi all, Jim French is back but unfortunately is not able to participate in our Thursday hikes due to family health problems. In the meantime Rick has volunteered me to send out the weekly notices. This week we will explore new territory with a hike to the top of Nkwala (Papa Jerry) Mtn starting from the West Bench. For this week we will meet at 9:00 AM at Selby Park on the west side of West Bench Drive near the corner of Jonathan Drive. Summerlanders who wish to carpool meet in the SE corner of the IGA parking lot before 8:40 for carpooling to West Bench. Please let others know whether you want to carpool by doing a "reply all" to this notice.

Time about 4 hrs depending on how much aimless blundering we do. May I suggest that it would be a good idea to carry a cell phone and let others know your number in case you manage to get separated from the group as has happened to several of us recently. Please let Rick or me know if you are coming. Peter
I will be there. Otto PLANNING TO BE THERE………..Hilda 😊
I am planning to be there. Is anyone meeting at Home Hardware?????? Hildi

AGM Hot Tub Blues: Saturday, October 27th!

When one has too great a dread of what is impending, one feels some relief when the trouble has come. -Joseph Joubert, essayist (1754-1824)

The Macallan makes some of the most storied single malt Scotch whisky in the world. The distillery was one of the first to focus on single malt in the early 1800s, and some of their rare bottles have become record-breaking collector’s items. Two older bottles from the brand sold for $1.2 million earlier this year, and then a couple more super rare bottles from the ‘80s sold for $2.1 million about a month ago. Out of your price range? No problem. While The Macallan produces some of the most sought-after collectibles for enthusiasts, they also make super accessible 10-year and 12-year bottles. And they just opened what might be the most stunning distillery in the world of Scotch.

After three and a half years (and more than $185 million) The Macallan opened its new destination distillery on a Speyside estate that has been home to the brand since 1824. As wonderful as The Macallan’s liquid is, this new distillery might be even more impressive. It looks like Frank Lloyd Wright designed a spaceship for a Star Trek movie. The slick piece of contemporary architecture only seems to enhance the rolling hills of Speyside and the ancient art of whisky making. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the gallery and see for yourself. Or book a trip if you have the time and cash. And if this gallery isn’t enough, just out the 360-degree tour that The Macallan has on their website, which takes you through the entire property, from a bird’s eye view of the buildings into the rickhouse. Oh, and the new building isn’t just about the architecture. The new distillery will allow The Macallan to increase their production by a third. [More on whiskey!🥃slainte!]

Hello Fartograms, After a successful cycling trip last Monday with a small group of enthusiasts, we will do a hike again this coming Monday. We will climb up Peach Cliff in OK Falls, a short but beautiful hike with stunning views of Shaha Lake, Penticton, Vasseux Lake and much more! Start is from MacClean Creek Road in OK Falls.

As usual, we will meet at the HH parking lot in Penticton at 9:00AM, or gather in Summerland at 8:40am at the IGA parking lot, then carpool to the HH in Penticton. For those who wish to drive directly to McClean Creek Trail Head, that is fine, but please let me know, so that I know you are coming. The trail head is at the 60 degree bend to the right of McClean Creek just after the Allendale Lake Rd if you come from OK Falls. After the hike we can decided where to go for our usual relaxation with refreshments, etc. See you on Monday! Aart Dronkers

Rake Those Pine Needles on Forsyth Drive Blues: Friday, October 26th!

Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate. -Albert Schweitzer, philosopher, physician, and musician (1875-1965)

Hi Sendero Canyon Folk! Trust your drive went well. Thank you again for your ever generous hopsitality! As I scribe, I'm enjoying a large mug of Flamin's overleft java! Delish!

Josephine Baker And Her Cheetah
Pleased I used the elliptizer for an hour before packing up. Chicken and vegetables made a super fine breakfast although I've noted a serious absence of things to choose from in your well-managed fridge now that you have become de-nested! I headed out of town, around 10:00 am, stopping at Raymondo's for a fabulous Christmas Cake, a thank-you for the apples I gave to them. We are off to Osoyoos this afternoon, probably around 3:00 pm. Weather permitting, I'm still planning to ride but if I don't cycle, I think I'll take my bike as I might have an opportunity to ride in and around Osoyoos. Fondestos from Lady Dar and Rosita to Clan Sutherland. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Bridge and Keyboard Practice!

THANK YOU !!! To all of you, good people, who came, not-fearing the rain we were supposed to have, put their shoulder to the wheel, worked hard and contributed to the big task of clearing Jim's yard of combustible debris. The job has been done. Seeing the response I got to my invitation, I must confess, I was overwhelmed by what I saw happening: from participation, to hard work, to bringing your trucks and hauling the debris away, multiple trips for some, to having all sorts of tools and equipment, to providing some food and refreshments. (Jim, your hospitality was overly generous, but much appreciated.)

[Christina TassellWhat a beautiful day for the Spring Show at Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum]

Special thanks to John B. whose skill and a good chain saw brought the 2 big dead trees down. The trees were cut, wood stacked up, branches cleared out of the way - ready for further sorting, cutting and disposal. It all worked like a clockwork. 21 of us. That speaks volumes about our willingness to help, the comradery in our group and about the high esteem in which we all hold our friend Jim. I understand that he will be leaving early next week for Victoria again, to attend to some further treatments. We, collectively, wish him all the best and keep our fingers crossed that the treatments will be successful. The initial Thank You was our collective expression of gratitude. This THANK YOU is my own, to all of you. Al

Rain Rain Go Away Blues: Thursday, October 25th!

Those who compare the age in which their lot has fallen with a golden age which exists only in imagination, may talk of degeneracy and decay; but no man who is correctly informed as to the past, will be disposed to take a morose or desponding view of the present. -Thomas Babington Macaulay, author and statesman (25 Oct 1800-1859)

Good Morning, Raymond! Sorry I didn't call last night but I'll pop by this morning around 8:30 am- 9:00 am, if that suits. I will call just before I leave to make sure you are around. I'm off shortly to the FCCC to use the elliptizer for an hour and then I'll pack up and have a bite to eat. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pat,
I have to leave at 8:45, if you can be there before then. Ray Pat, I have to leave soon and Sylvia is in Minneapolis, so I'll leave the cake on the top step at the front behind the plant pot. Ray

Pat, Just got home and there is no cake in the container, so either you picked it out or the squirrels got it. The container was actually yours! You will need to add a little alcohol (about 2tbs) each week to keep it moist prior to Christmas. I've added rum for a few weeks but it probably doesn't matter what type of alcohol. Safe drive home. Ray

Hi Raymond! Thanks so much for the simply wonderful cake! I was pleased to find it before the squirrels nabbed it! I didn't realize container was ours and as I wasn't sure when we'll be back in Vancouver next I didn't want to take it in case you needed it for something. At any rate, I had a number of large plastic bags with me so I wrapped the cake in it. As it turns out Lady Dar picked up a couple of large tins for Christmas baking she plans to do while her Mom is staying and one will be perfect for cake. Thanks for tip on adding alcohol. I'll probably use rum as well as everyone seems to like this "moistener"! Thanks again for such a lovely gift.

Drive went very well even though it rained all the way to Abbotsford. By the time I'd filled my gas tank and done some shopping at Costco there it was but a light drizzle and then even that cleared up by the time I was close to Manning Park. Rest of drive was on dry roads although it was pretty dark with heavy cloud cover. When I dropped down into Penticton wind was blowing furiously out of the south and there were whitecaps on Skaha. All well at home. Clarisse and Lady Dar made a large batch of ripe-tomatoe pickle, (12 jars), this morning so we are well set with 24 jars of pickled beets, made over last few days as well.
We are off to Osoyoos tomorrow afternoon to attend the Spirit Ridge AGM. I think you know we own a quarter share so we are the proud owners of a "fractional condo"! Resort foots the bill for two nights accommodation as well as throwing a banquet on Saturday evening. Clara and Chloë will join us but only owners are invited to banquet. Flamin' and Sarge, [They own a half-share.], drove up to Penticton today to stay with Corey/Rebecca tonight. Nicole and Marvin, from Kamloops, will be down, with their son, Jaxon, as well so it should be fun, grandchildren screaming their lungs out! Great that we have our own suite to retreat to. Wayne's uncle, Joe, and Heather, his wife,  (from Chilliwack), will be there as well as they bought a one bedroom, (ours is two), a few months ago. All the Sutherlands golf so they enjoy the various courses around Osoyoos, including one at Spirit Ridge.
Weather permitting, [Forecast is for rain tonight, here, but not in Osoyoos.], I'm planning to ride to Osoyoos. Only about 61 km and almost all, slightly downhill.  Few decent hills, one on way to OK Falls but after that only a few long grades which are not overly demanding, other than a good huff and puffer outside Osoyoos. If wind is out of the north it's a piece of cake, [Raymond's fabulous recipe!], but if blowing from the south ride can be considerably tougher. Anyway, if I don't ride, I'll take my bike as I enjoy riding in and around Osoyoos.

Trust Sylvia got away without any delays. I had a brief chat with her when I dropped of apples so I did know that she would be away. You had mentioned her trip in an earlier message as well. Anyway, must away as I need to pack a  few things for weekend as I won't have much time tomorrow, before we head south. In the morning I'm going to join a group of people from hiking group who will be doing some yard work for a lovely couple who have both been undergoing treatment for cancer of one sort or another, over last few months. Take care of yourself, Mr Pickleball! Say hello to Mick and Polly for me. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Pics: Had a great visit with Denise and Bill before my doctor's appointment. Took them a bag of apples as well. Lamb for dinner and then bridge with Susan Pitchford and Janet Scott. Back home with Flamin' and Sarge. She's taken up the keyboard! My girlfriend, Etta. She loves sleeping in our bathroom sink!

Pat, Glad you were able to pick up the cake. Still enjoying beets and carrots out of the garden. I can leave them in the ground into the winter usually without too much decomposition. It's quite blustery here today also. Sylvia's flight on Delta arrived in Minneapolis an hour early. Never heard of a plane making up that much time in a relatively short flight. You might remember Rod Holloway. He had a heart attack last Saturday and is still at St.Paul's. He was returning from a bike ride to Horseshoe Bay, managed to get to the sea bus and over to hospital but collapsed in the elevator. It doesn't sound good. Enjoy your weekend in Osoyoos. Ray

Patrick, We talked about possibly playing Bridge tonight...I have had a busy week and I am looking forward to chilling at home tonight. Bill and I just returned from a wood cutting foray up Arawana Rd. I am going to spend the afternoon in the yard putting my plants to bed for the winter. Wishing you and Corinne a lovely afternoon. Pam Hi Wood Cutter Woman! Everyone here was fine with not playing this evening. For my part I'd had a busy few days in Vancouver and was up at 6:00 am to go to FCCC to use elliptizer for an hour before I headed out of town, around 10:00 am. Clarisse and Lady Dar made a large batch of ripe-tomatoe pickle, (12 jars), this morning so they were just as happy to read in front of the fire! Fondestos from Lady Dar and Rosita to you and William. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hey there has to be something we can bring.  Can make it gluten free, dessert?  Appetizers?  Something? looking forward to it! Hi Judith! You Summerlanders are truly pushy people! However, thanks for persisting as Lady Dar would be delighted, as would I, of course, if you could bring a gluten-free dessert. Thanks very much. Fondestos from Lady Dar and Rosita to you, Judy, and James. Cheers, Patrizzio! will do see you both soon!
Hi Bridgites! Great evening this past Monday. Thanks for the grapes, walnuts and apples, Lady Di, the Galas, Olga Polga, the fab hedgehogs, Judy Blue and the delish dessert wine, Carolina! [And for recipe, Susannah!] Not sure what next week looks like for everyone but Rosita and I are free on Monday if people would like to play that evening. Otherwise let me know and we'll plan accordingly. Again, with Clarisse here we are happy to host. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Josinta! Are you and Aarturos planning to join work party tomorrow? If so, would you be able to pop by René's place if he didn't already give you an English version of his book as I will need it for another person in group. I can always drive over to Summerland if you won't be around. Anyway, please let me know and I'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! I will bring you one Monday night when I join you for bridge! Jos Count me in for Monday. See you soon, Olly Great pictures Patrick!  I can play on Monday.  Thank you.  Dianne. ps. the red wine was delicious😋 Patrick, Monday works for me too. Have a great weekend in Osoyoos Pamela😊👍 Monday is good for me. Susan
