Nacional Museo Butterfly Gallery Blues: Tuesday, January 9th!

I tore myself away from the safe comfort of certainties through my love for truth -- and truth rewarded me. -Simone de Beauvoir, author and philosopher (9 Jan 1908-1986)

Hello Famiglia! Just a quick note to send along this album which chronicles our time yesterday. The internet connection is not as good in our room so I was downstairs putting the album together. We had another lovely day today, both in terms of weather and sightseeing. Spent about three hours in the Museo Nacional and the most wonderful surprises is that upon entering, one walks up a series of ramps through a Butterfly Garden. Quite magical. Rest of exhibits were most interesting so a full morning to see and absorb much.

Lady Dar wanted to pick up a pair of pantaloons and tights so we strolled back along pedestrian only thoroughfare to vist a number of shops until she was able to find what she wanted. Started to feel a bit peckish around 1:00 pm so we strolled back towards our hotel and explored part of Barrio Amon and found a lovely restaurant where we enjoyed bowls of delicious corn soup and freshly made lemonade. After wards we continued to explore and came upon a terrific spot of dinner this evening. Made reservations and then returned to our hotel to nap as it had been rather exhausting work!

After our naps we lazed around room, watching CNN, [We watched the Golden Globes in Spanish!], and readying ourselves for dinner. Very quiet streets but very safe so we enjoyed short walk back to Silvestre. Enjoyed a delicious meal. I had risotto with shrimp and chicken while Lady Dar chose the lamb with eggplant and julienned green beans in a tomato sauce, all washed down with an Argentian Torrontes, a white varietal we first encountered when visiting Buenos Aires in 2008. Back to the hotel to watch more endless coverage of Trump's tweets and then to bed.

Hi Elaine! Have been meaning to send along a message ever since I heard, via your message to Lady Dar, that the party for Ted went so well. Lady Dar sends her fondest to you, Elaine, and to Ted. Please know that we are both thinking of you and your family and have you in our hearts always. Much love and affection, Patrizzio!

Empanada appetizer; Risotto; Chandelier; one pf paintings adorning walls of restaurant. Butterfly feeding; Lady Dar napping, waiting for me; Where we will stay next time we visit!
