Ulrike, Thomas and Lady Dar Dispel The Blues: Saturday, June 23rd!

To a father growing old, nothing is dearer than a daughter. -Euripides, playwright (c. 480-406 BCE)

Enjoyed a simply wonderful visit in my hospital room, with Ulroke and her, boyfriend Tomas. She "saved" me at the Berlin train station, just under a week ago, and called paramedics.

They made about a two hour train journey to visit, collecting my bike and baggage, in storage at station, before coming to hospital. Unfortunately, Lady Dar arrived after they had to leave. Ulrike will complete her PhD in Biology shortly and Tomas is a landscape worker for city of Berlin.

Had a heart-wrenching reunion with Lady Dar. We visited for about an hour before she left. She was exhausted after almost more than a day's worth of traveling. She took my large knapsack back to the hotel, but about ten minutes away, by foot, so that it would be easier for her when she came back on Sunday to wheel my bike and panniers to the hotel.
