Bergeron Pacific Blue Cross Blues: Wednesday, June 20th!

The most tyrannical of governments are those which make crimes of opinions, for everyone has an inalienable right to his thoughts. -Baruch Spinoza, philosopher (1632-1677)

Hi D! You’ll have have so many messages from me once you finally get internet access!! It’s 10:50 and duke can’t stay awake any longer but I have to pick up mom in an hour so I’m puttering and tidying. I’m happy to know your feeling better and will be released Sunday or Monday, you need to make it home so you can rest and recover. Love you D. ❤️❤️

Hip Hip Hooray! I am no longer in quarantine. Doctor whose students will visit me this morning gave me the good news when he arrived, around 10:00am to say lab results showed no extra-terrestrial organisms. This means I can actually go for a walk along the long corridors as opposed to doing my make-shift route, in my room and bathroom, that I’ve been following for last few days. Knew I had to start building up some muscle tone as a way to help me on the long journey back home, now looking like Monday, June 25th, all travel arrangements being put in place by Blue Cross by then. Enjoyed an hour or so with four medical students. Blood values improving markedly and I met with a lovely physiotherapist who gave me a glorious back massage.

Dear Mr Dunn, My name is Anne, case manager at Canassistance for your Pacific Blue Cross travel insurance.I have tried to reach you at the hospital but they couldn’t find you and the number we have on file to reach you is not going through. I wanted to follow up with you in order to better assist you. - How are you doing? - What is the diagnosis? - What treatment are you receiving? - When is the last time you saw your family md/specialist and for what reason? - Do you take medication on a regular basis? - Have you been hospitalised or visited the ER in the last year? - Are you satisfied with the quality of the medical care you are receiving? - When do you think you will be discharged? - If the patient is already discharge, on what date? - Will you need to see the doctor again prior to your return? If so, when and why? - Did the hospital ask you to pay any fees? - If yes, how much have you paid? - What are your plans once discharged?

Please note that your insurance has a stability clause. With the information we have on file, Pacific Blue Cross will need to obtain your family doctor and/or specialists notes from Canada in order to determine eligibility. Could you please provide their name and contact information? Also, in order to obtain this information, we will need you to sign the consent I sent a few minutes ago. Finally, the medical report from your current admission and from the one you had in Poland will be required in order to determine eligibility of the services. We asked our local assistance company to get a hold of the hospital you are at right now and obtain the document.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns, we are open 24h/7days. You can either reply to this email or call us. Best regards, Anne Bergeron Contact information: Hi Patrick, if you need anything, just call me on this number or email me back. All the Best for the rest of your trip Diane.
