Boulevard Tree's Full Blossom Blues: Wednesday, May 22nd!

I should dearly love that the world should be ever so little better for my presence. Even on this small stage we have our two sides, and something might be done by throwing all one's weight on the scale of breadth, tolerance, charity, temperance, peace, and kindliness to man and beast. We can't all strike very big blows, and even the little ones count for something. -Arthur Conan Doyle, physician and writer (22 May 1859-1930)

Hello Bridgeolaters! With everyone's busy, busy schedules, we'll only have one table this evening. Carolina, The Cruise Queen, will be joining us to demonstrate her recently honed bidding skills, along with Phillipo, The King of Spiller Road Seven No Trump. O Susannah and Patrizzio will attempt to hold their own against this Tidal Wave of Trick Takers while Lady Dar serves drinks and works on her coming weddings.

Look forward to seeing everyone at 6:30 pm at The Burns Street Bridge Emporium! Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Hello Unavailable Bridgeolaters! Sorry to miss the rest of you but enjoy your travels, those on the road, while those working or otherwise engaged, we'll miss you, one and all. Cheers, Patrizzio! Have fun tonight Patrick. I will enjoy an evening at home. Dianne

Hi, Patrick! Hope you are doing well. Have you spoke to your friend Shana of Upper Bench? I guess her daughter Chloe must have arrived Tokyo today. Do you know her contact address? I've been wondering how she's doing and if I can be any of her support. Unfortunately I came back to Osaka area last night.
I won't be back in Tokyo until 26th or 27th, but if there is anything I can do for her please let me know. She can contact me directly. Thank you! Please say hello to Corinne and Chloe for me. Love, Toshiko

Hi Toshi! Trust you are well. You sound as busy as ever. No, I haven't heard anything from Shana, lately. I did see her, at the winery, a few weeks ago, but she said she hadn't heard from Chloe either. She has your contact details so I assume she ill be in touch if she feels she would like to do so. Not much you can do if she doesn't send a message or call so I wouldn't worry, just go about what you might otherwise be doing. On another matter, we hosted our book club this past Tuesday and Colin asked about you. He insists you return for more snowshoeing! This weekend we spent Sunday and Monday with Ruth and Rick Toews at their lovely cabin on Little Shuswap, north of us by about three hours.Tomorrow we are having solar panels installed on our roof, along with a Tier Two charger for our new electric vehicle, a Hyundai Kona. We are very pleased with how it performs and we've already driven it into Vancouver. Fondestos from Lady Dar to you and your Mother. Stay well. Cheers, Patrizzio!  Pics: Little Shuswap.

Terravista Vineyards Spring has Sprung!! It is so great to finally see the warm weather arrive in the South Okanagan! Truthfully, the prolonged winter did test our patience! We had budburst in the home vineyard at the end of April and we are now involved in the shoot thinning process as the vines are entering their rapid growth stage.
The most important news we have is the fact that we are currently in the process of mentoring a young couple, Eric and Dallas Thor, to work into our positions at TERRAVISTA..... as we ease ourselves into retirement!

We have been at this industry for a long time and as we are both seniors now we have come to realize that it is time to pass the torch. Dallas and Eric currently live in Vancouver but are relocating to the Naramata Bench. They were both raised in the South Okanagan so you could say they have the dirt under their nails naturally! We are confident they will make great new proprietors.

Senka and I will be carrying on as usual for now and we would love to see you if you have a chance to drop by this spring, at the same time you will have an opportunity to meet Eric and Dallas.
Hope to see you soon! Regards, Bob and Senka

Hey Chuck…..Olly called today and we more or less decided on a shorter hike here in Summerland. I think Al Tinka is away but thought I would copy him regardless as I know he enjoys the shorter local hikes. Feel free to invite anyone else who you know is not going to the Kilpoola Lake hike but I did not reply to all as I do not want to take away from Jim’s hike. Hope you can make it with us Chuck if you are not planning on going on the longer hike. This may work for you too Patrick as it will be a shorter hike and not too difficult….maybe 3 hours or so. Meet at 900 am at IGA and we can decide from there where we want to go OK. Cheers…..Kilian

Hi St Killian! Thanks very much for thinking about me with respect to Thursday's hike. I'm hoping I'll be able to join gang in the not too, too distant future. However, even if I had clearance to join hike we have to be home as Argon Solar will start the installation of solar panels on our roof that morning. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pic: KVR Electrical cyclistii and fellow hiker/walker! Thank you for the photos Patrick! The solar panels look great….I would like to see them up close some time and quiz you a bit more on how productive they are. Cheers….Kilian

Hello friends, Anthea Bryan has asked that I pass this message along to you all. Celebration of Life for Jim Bryan: Please join us to celebrate the life of our beloved Jim (James Earnest Bryan) on June 15th, 2019, from 3-6 pm at the Summerland Ornamental Gardens (4200 BC-97, Summerland, BC). The celebration will be a drop-in event with snacks, drinks, and a memory walk. As a few considerations, we ask that you please 1) dress appropriately for the weather, as the celebration will be outdoors, 2) consider carpooling or cycling as parking at the gardens is limited, and 3) if you know of someone who has not heard about the celebration, let them know that they are welcome to attend.

We will be collecting written stories and/or pictures of Jim for a memory book. If you have something you would like to contribute, you can bring it with you or email it to Rosemary. We have had a few questions about making a donation in Jim's name. Should you wish to do so, here are three that would be particularly meaningful to him:

Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation: <https://www.clfoundation.org/giving-online> Nature Conservancy of Canada: <https://donate.natureconservancy.ca/page/25744/donate/1> BC Nature Trust: <https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/m/37893/donation> We give our thanks for all the support we are receiving and look forward to seeing you on the 15th. Anthea, Heather, and Rosemary
