Shatford Winter Market Yuletide at the Lakeside Santa Parade Blues: Saturday, December 2nd!

The soul is the same in all living creatures, although the body is different. -Hippocrates, physician (460-c.377 BCE)

Hi Patrick,  It's funny, I was just reading a book review about Bellevue Square in The Sun paper so now I'll definitely make it a priority, as well as Boyne's book. Thanks for the heads up. I'll get Rick to check his calendar to see when we can make a visit. We were thinking in February since you are away in January. If there is a time in February that does not work, please let us know
since you may be visiting Ruth in Texas by the sounds of it. I'm so glad to hear that she is in recovery mode from the divorce much like my sister. It's great to
know that they can find the light at the end of the tunnel and move on. Have a great weekend and good luck with the MRI results. Ruth

Hi Little Red! Don't tell The Grumpoid about the synchronicity that we share. I know Lady Dar is jealous as well!! Given what we have planned for this year's "winter holiday", I don't think we will be back, much before the end of February. Lady Dar has to be home by March 4th for an important church finance meeting so I assume we will be back at Burns Street a day or so before that weekend.
Thanks for good wishes for the MRI but I mislead you as it was a CT scan. Had not had one before, kind of like a spinning gerbil-wheel Nevertheless, only took half an hour and that included trip there and back. Most was spent in Reception Area so cannot complain. Will know more on December 11th when I see specialist again.

Just back from Winter Market where we bought a large container of apple juice for a non-alcoholic punch for Open House. Will leave shortly for Yuletide at the Lakeside, a Christmas Fair at possible Whiplash HQ! Take care of yourselves and happy reading! All the best, Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Winter Market with Molly and Dave, her Dad, terrific vendor from Starvation Flats Farm in Keremeos; Sad Miss Etta on Chloë's duvet, missing her. [Chloë is in Kelowna/Vernon for weekend. Her good friend Katie was meeting her at a Craft Fair in Kelowna today and then Chloë was returning Vernon to spend the night.] My computer Frosty. Lady Dar is busy breaking out Xmas ornaments to have place ready for Open House. We will cut our own tree at a farm off Naramata Road when Chloë is back from Vernon.

I have the tickets for you, will bring them on Sunday. I was swamped today so we didn't get there. Picked up our wine at Terra Vista; went to airport to say goodbye to Japanese Student; busy, busy, busy plus we have had Zen the last two nights. can't wait to see you both, sorry you miss our pizza invite, but we have many rain checks. LOL Dame Judith Hello Alabriña and Bobolino! Not sure if you listened to phone message BUT our Open House is on December 9th! Apparently Dame Judith thought it was tomorrow and told you so! Anyway, you are still welcome to come over if you don't read this message or listen to voice mail. Otherwise, see you both next Saturday, Alabriña on Monday as well! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Corinne and Patrick—I just booked some tickets (seats H7 and H8) for a movie (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) for me and Petey this coming Tuesday night (December 5). Since it doesn’t start until 7:25, I thought we’d grab a bite to eat in town beforehand—maybe at the Front Street Bistro (if its open) or at the Indian place near the theatres. Are you available to join us? Hope so. We haven’t had a visit for awhile. Cheers for now, Lynne P.S. Please remind me of the details of your Christmas open house. I’m having a senior’s month!! Hello Long-Lost Lynne and Globe-Trotting Jugos! Thank you for the gracious invitation BUT we, (Lady Dar, Chloë and Untouchable, [in the East Indian Caste System sense], Patrizzio), will be going to the Front Street Bistro the next evening, to celebrate my 70th! We would be delighted if you would like to join us. This being the case, why don't you come for dinner, before the film on Tuesday? We are going to book tickets, [Have seats H6 & H9, so we are bracketing you!], ourselves so whether or not you want to join us for a meal beforehand, we will probably see you at the theatre. Will append Open House Invitation, in 24 point, for Seniors!

On another matter, just wanted to thank Home Hootch Maker Dom Pedro as we have been enjoying his extra-special, Grand Reserve Plonk ever since we received a paltry case of these exceptional wines. My favourite is the SB/Sem blend, Lady Dar is more partial to the Riesling and we both brush our teeth with the Semi-Sweet Riesling when not using it for marinade and chain cleaner! Will always take any more product that you are trying to dump! Must away as Lady Dar's divine, designer pizzas are just out of the wood burning pizza oven I just put together on the back patio out of bricks I purloined from HH, last night, after I was all jacked up on the Semi Sweet! Man, even the Mounties couldn't catch me! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Cynical Synder Man! Was trying to snow today but didn't really materialize. Good thing as it was Penticton's Santa Claus Parade this afternoon. Beforehand, enjoyed Yuletide at Lakeside and then Parade on Main! Thought we might see you at Santa Parade! Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Yuletide at Lakeside and Santa Claus Parade! And a very FURRY Xmas to thee and Lady Dar, DBJS Hi again, "Furry" Jacob Two-Two! Fondestos to Vittoria. When are you off? Cheers, Paul Bunyan Patrizzio!

Hi you, just cannot respond right now I am busily connecting over sixty people that will be attending our open house. xx Hi Organizer Woman! Don't worry about responding. I know how busy you are. Having neighbours, Ellen and Bill, for a drink, tomorrow afternoon. They will be away for our Open House. Other friends, Judi and Kevin, will come for dinner afterwards. When Chloë drives back from Vernon, around noon tomorrow, we'll head out to a Christmas tree farm off Naramata Road, to cut our own evergreen. Lady Dar wants to start decorating it as soon as we have it home! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Nicely done on the bike ride...great painting by Lady Dar..I like the subject especially in the summer. Your upcoming trip sounds fantastic..I love Europe. especially Paris...we are planing Italian in May..probably 3 weeks..that’s all Donna can get off work...but better than not going..we will meet one son who lives in London and our older one if he chooses to join us. I would guess everyone will be busy during the holidays so I’ll expect to hear from you in the new year. Ed Ps saw Charlie and George at ‘the Gamble’...but never got to talk too much as we played at different clubs.

Hi Fast Eddie! Your trip to Italy sounds terrific. I'm hoping to wander around Paris for a week or so as I feel same way about city as you do. Plan much the same for London, as well, having two sets of good friends in that city. Have not seen Carlos The Jackal for a couple of years and Whirlygig for almost a year, a little before he and Calamity took off for their extended trip. I was hoping he'd be able to join me on my biking adventure but seems like he won't be able to do so. In the riding vein, I'm still able to ride outside these days. Ragin' Bull is driving up, on Thursday, to attend our Open House. [He dd so last year as well.] Will plan a bridge game for that night and we hope to ride the KVR while he is here, if we don't have snow by then. Was trying to snow today but didn't really materialize. Good thing as it was Penticton's Santa Claus Parade in the afternoon. A bit more "dusting" this evening but it doesn't seem to be sticking on the roads or sidewalks, (hills look lovely, however), so I'm hoping we'll have an opportunity for at least one ride, if not more! All the best to you, Fast as Greased Lightning Eddie, and Donna, for Christmas and New Year. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pic: Duke inspecting stockings! Etta waiting for Santa!

Our baby, Beth, 35, has breast cancer, 2 malignant tumours She found first Nov 19 (not shown in mammo as too high on chest wall) & other 20th by her GP. Mammo followed & two ultrasounds Nov 3. Then, 4 needle biopsies Nov 7, 2 in each tumour. Different cancers, same breast. Later needle Biopsy Nov 21, of armpit clean. Surgery Dec 13th, single mastectomy, no reconstruction at this time. Praying lymph nodes clear. Would mean no radiation. Chemo after new year. Family reeling but focusing on positive. Circle tightening, family & amazing friends. Kids almost 10, 7 & 4 were told after surgeon consult Nov 27.

Moment of levity. During consult, Beth asked about reconstruction. Stephanie & Terry were with her last Monday. She is so lean & fit at almost 5’8, has no body fat to make flap. (Plays hockey & ball hockey. Ran successful ‘Day Home’, now just closed. Runs with kids Kennedy-indoor soccer, Ollie-hockey & Katelyn-discovery hockey) Steph offered her fat, lol. Not possible. Will depend on lymph node histology during surgery. If present, would need radiation. Complicated if reconstruction. Can do something down road. Surgeon, Dr Latham Peiris felt low % risk other breast. He is young & comes highly recommended. Faster recovery with only one. She is strong & they are in readiness mode!! So proud of them.

Dear, Dear Maggie! Both Corinne and I want to let you know that we send our heartfelt thoughts and concern to you, Frank, family and Beth, in particular, of course. From what you say, she seems ready to take on this very, very tough hand, just dealt to her, with courage and resolve. Thinking of you all through this most difficult time. Fondest of fond regards, Patrizzio! Thx, Pat. Focused on recovery!! Thx, Pat. Focused on recovery!! Onward! Fight!! Here on Burns Street we are all in your corner! Thx, Pat. It’s been a real roller coaster of emotions around here with my surgery & Beth’s cancer diagnosis. Family & friends have a plan to help Beth after her surgery the 13th & for when she starts her chemo in new year. Their kids are 10, 7 & 4. It’s a busy family with lots of activities happening. Terry has only been working at Peterbilt as a heavy duty mechanic for less than a year. Fortunately, they are very understanding and giving him lots of time to deal with what comes.
