Last Ditch Bridge Blues: Monday, September 17th!

You have to laugh at the things that hurt you just to keep yourself in balance, just to keep the world from running you plumb crazy. -Ken Kesey, novelist (17 Sep 1935-2001)

Finished off the shelving at Sendero this afternoon then had a great bridge evening, with Branko, as he joined our bridge group. New member, Gillian as well as Michaelo, now back in town. Ragin' was obviously delighted to see him as well! [See snapolas below!]

Hello Bridgoids! Last ditch call for players for tonight's game, if it is to happen. Unfortunately, Ollly cannot host this evening as she has been called away on a family matter. This being the case, Ragin' Bull and I will host at 611 Burns Street, anytime after 6:30 pm. If you have already indicated that you cannot play, don't bother responding but for those of you who have not, [Gillian/Michaelo?],please let me know, by late afternoon, or earlier, if possible, if you are still interested and available and I'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio, Desperately Searching!

Hi Patrick, Can't play tonight as have Colorado visitors staying. Thanks for asking. Phil & Gill Mike can play Corinne Finally I will have a chance to see the new kitchen 😲😁 Mike Hi Michaelo! Great that you can play. See you and Judy Blue anytime after 6:30 pm! Cheers, Patrizzio! Patrick, I did reply on Tuesday saying we were not available. Have fun. Gill

Hello Bridge Players! Had a great evening with Gillian and Branko tonight, so welcome to the group, Gillian. [As well, thanks for lovely grapes, Gillian!] Also great to see Michaelo back in the fold. Branko was obviously delighted to see him as well! [See snapolas below!] No discussion about next week's game so I'm wondering if Thursday evening might work for most,as we are still trying to find a regular night. At any rate, let me know your thoughts and we'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Pics: Sendero construction site. Chloë's friends, from Squamish, (Krissy/Greg and Porter, and Kamloops, Kim), were visiting for a few days and arrived while Chloë was at work. Tennis anyone? That evening, one table but spirited play! Lady Dar, back from her meeting, and then relaxing with Ragin' Bull!

Looks like a fun evening. Next Thursday Sept 27 would be fine for me. Susan
Hi to everyone, Phil and I could host next week but not on Wed or Thursday. Please let us know if you want to do a Monday or Tuesday bridge night next week. We are leaving to go south for the winter on October 18th and would like to have a farewell pot luck here at our place before that - with bridge to follow. Jos gets back October 12 so was thinking could we have a get together on Monday 15th. Who would be available then? Bye for now Gill I am going to skip bridge this week and will be gone for the next 2 weeks. I am back on Oct 14 so will be able to attend your party on the 15th!! Good cards to all Judy Xo

Hi Pat and Corinne - trust this finds you both well. My cousin and partner arrived today Irish whiskey in hand and are getting settled in. Plans have us driving to Kelowna on Saturday for three nights with my sister and then visiting you for one or two nights on Tues/Wed. Will this be OK at you end? Our plans got a bit complicated by the fact we have to get back on Thurs the 27th for a VPL Gala. My inclination is to stay over the Wed night (if this is OK with you both) as well as the Tues night and get an early start on the road on Thurs. Telling us to bugger off and forget the whole thing is still very much an option for you. We can refine details such as arrival time by phone if we get a green light at your end. Talk soon...Paul We are still fine for Tues & Wednesday for a visit. Looking forward to meeting your cousins. Regards Corinne Great - I'll phone on Sunday or Monday from Kelowna and we can discuss logistics on arrival, meals etc. What we plan for Wed during the day will to a certain extent be weather dependent so we'll see. Talk soon....Paul

Hi, Patrick and Corinne: Just wanted to let you know that I picked up the wine from Sarge yesterday -- thanks for arranging that. Also, I am off to Europe this evening! Just wanted to alert you to the existence of my newest blog: London, Balkans, Berlin: Fall 2018 You can get to it directly from the link, or the URL is <janet2018europe.wordpress.com> My next posting will probably be a very, very jet-lagged entry from the U.K. Hedgehugs, Janet

Hi Janet! I enjoyed a quick look at your blog and found the pictures wonderful. I hope to read every word over next little while. I assume journey was an unqualified success.
I'm driving into Vancouver on October 23rd, Tuesday, to see my dermatologist for my annual check-up, on the  the 24th. If you are around perhaps we can connect at some point. Fondestos from Lady Dar, to you, Janet! All the best. Cheers, Patrizzio!Hi Ragin'! Thought that you might like to take a look at Janet's blog. Brought back some great memories! Cheers, Il Conduttore!

Dear Patrick! We apologize for the delay in our correspondence. It’s terrible what you had to experience at the end of your journey. The pictures of you look frightening.... We all hope that you are on the way to recovery and are “the Patrick we know...We also had a busy time in between. There was big changes at Annemaries current job at BMW Autobile AG and she has decided to look for an new job, and what happened...? She was awarded the first application and she starts the new job on December 1st. She works at the reception of an local government office (45%) not far from here. Annemarie is very happy!! And I.. I will be retired in 9 months and I am also looking forward to everything that will come. Last week we relaxed at a winery in Orvieto (Italy). In addition to wine tasting and golf we made a detour to Rome. This was very interesting, as it was the first time for us both in this historic city. We wish you all beautiful autumn days and satisfaction in your cozy home. Greetings and kisses to all!! Rudy and Annemarie
