Apple Picking Blues: Sunday, October 14th

When I am working on a problem I never think about beauty. I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong. -R. Buckminster Fuller, engineer, designer, and architect (1895-1983)

Hi Patrice, Wonderful pictures and great to hear of the great Thanksgiving and visits with Family and friends be it digital or reality!. Not to much time as I am off to work today in Delta for the first episode of lost in Space. The good news is this segment at least requiring my involvement will be done this week and very glad as it along with some other stuff in my life has been a trial the last couple weeks. Anyway love to all the Pentictonians and we’ll catch up soon. Cheers, Al

Hi Work Around the Clock Man! Lovely to hear from you even if it is time for you to slow down! I'm not really one to speak as we have been pretty busy ourselves over last little while. Had a lovely evening last night as Clan Sutherland, or at least a relatively small number of them, came for dinner. With respect to the Remembrance Day Weekend, as I both suspected and suggested, it will not be possible for us. We have tickets for PAG's Soup Bowls Project on Saturday. Really a terrific find-raiser. Local potters donate various soup bowls and as one enters the Gallery one chooses a bowl and uses it to taste at the various food stations, (usually seven or eight), over the course of the evening. Local caterers and service clubs offer a soup of one kind or another and then attendees vote for best soup at the end of the evening. First time we went I looked for the largest bowl I could find. Found out this was the wrong strategy as if you take too much early on you simply can't taste everything. Anyway, loads of fun as there is a cash bar as well, stocked with some pretty good local hootch.

Sunday, Lady Dar has another Oasis commitment so we must decline, yet again, your ever generous invitation. We both hope you don't think we are trying to avoid you but our lives simply seem to be becoming busier and busier without us even necessarily wanting them to do so! At any rate, perhaps we can orchestrate something in the time before Christmas, before Lady Dar wings her way to Guyabitos! Stay well.

Hoping we will be able to pick apples this afternoon. Bill Sliva, chap who owns orchards, etc., called on Friday to say this weekend would be a good time to come over to his place off Middle Bench Road. This evening we are all invited to have dinner with Lynne and Jugos Dom Pedro. On Monday there is a bridge-pot-luck, on Spiller Road, [where I get most of my firewood}, to say goodbye to Gilliana and Phillipo, off to Sedona a few days later, for winter. Thursday is our book club. If it's Tuesday, it must be Sunshine Valley!

Must away as I want to go for a ride, given day is simply glorious, while Lady Dar is at church, before apple-picking time! Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Clan Sutherland with Clarisse; Lady Dar always closes her eyes unless it is an Official Portrait! Hello Sendero Freeloaders! Great evening! Thanks for all the fabulous wine. Trust everyone is well, in spite of moving-in blues! See you at Harbour Terrace on Tuesday, the 23rd. Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello Fellow Bikers! Trust everyone is well. Know that Tomaso is as I bumped into him at the Farmers' Market yesterday. Although I have meant to do so since being back in Penticton, meeting has spurred me to invite you all for dinner over next little while. Am wondering when might work for everyone. Weekends are best for Tom. First weekend in November or the Friday or Sunday night of Remembrance Day weekend are free for us. Anyway, let us know and we'll plan accordingly. Look forward to catching up and introducing you to Lady Dar who has already heard so much about my riding companions! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Glasgow! Trust you are well. From what I've been told, wedding went well. Congrats! Yesterday I strolled down to the Farmers' Market and bumped into Tom, who was on bike tour in Poland this past June, as you will recall. He was alone as well as Carol was picking up a pizza! Fondestos to you and Catherine. Cheers, Patrizzio! Thanks for this Patrick. Tom as smart as ever. Please say fondest from us to Corrine’s mum. She looks great. Writing from Seoul. Starting our big trip. Hello Kim Jong-un! Are you on a diplomatic mission for Donald? Great way to defray the cost of a holiday! We had a fab time this evening with Lynne and Peter, simply wonderful dinner! Stay well. Fondestos from Lady Dar to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi OF hikers Back to the Monday programme after a bit of an absence.
