Hi Patrick, I trust this gets to you we will be chatting with friends on Tuesday to work out what they intend to do next year so we can make decisions about perhaps catching up with you all whilst you are in Croatia or in Europe generally in September we shall see. So if we are unable to visit you in Canada in 2019 we will plan for 2020 and most certainly we would love to travel a bit east to catch up. My daughter Lynda is in the middle of a major renovation at her place so all a bit chaotic over here at the moment. Claire and I were going to go camping next week but the forecast is for rain with intermittent rain followed by rain so we are staying home. Being semi-retired means this is not a problem. Will keep in touch re plans fro next year. Cheers from Greg and Claire
Hello Semi-Retirees, et al! Look forward to hearing your plans for 2019. You MUST visit before 2010! An order, not a request! Just back from strolling down to the Farmers' Market and on the way I heard a woman talking to her children in front yard, recognizing her accent as Australian. She was from Brisbane so we had a brief chat. Closer to market I stopped to ask a couple if their dog was Nova Scotia Dog Toller, (one of few Canadian breeds), although its snout did not present a classical DT profile. Anyway, husband was originally from Sydney and met his wife hear, in Penticton, when he was competing in a triathlon. Ozzies are definitely taking over!

Enjoyed a great time chatting with vendors and friends I bumped into. One, in particular, Tom, was on bike tour in Poland this past June. Hadn't seen him since we said goodbye in Kraków, but hope to have him and his wife, Carol, as well as Judy and Jim, (couple on bike trip in Czech Republic), who live in Summerland, community about 15 minutes north of us, for dinner over next little while. The two couples know each other and often ride together so I hope to join them at some point.

Back home with a cabbage and a bag of rainbow carrots as I will make a Cole-slaw to go with the baked beans Rosita and I put in the slow cooker this morning. Flamin' and Sarge, along with Beckster and Kid Chelene, and their two girls, Avery and Ashlynn, will be coming for dinner. Have had chicken thighs marinating in buttermilk and Sriracha since yesterday. Rosita's recipe. Do you know this type of hot chili sauce? In case not it is made from a paste of chili peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt. It is named after the coastal city of Si Racha, in Chonburi Province of eastern Thailand.

Nicole, Marvinator and Jaxon popped by in the early afternoon to see new kitchen. They drove over form Kamloops to help with move and see other family members. Funnily enough, we'll probably see most of same folk in a couple of weeks, at Spirit Ridge, as we are going there to attend AGM over 26th/27th weekend. Free accommodation and meals! Will take Rosita and Chloë so should be fun.  Anyway, must away as I have a few kitchen chores left. Fondestos from Lady Dar, just lying down for a nap after being up early to help out at the fund raiser bottle drive at her church. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pics: Today's Farmers Market. Walked along Penticton Creek to get there and shots show some of the recently completed restoration project. Local sites. Tom, on biking trip. Garlic Scape People, [I talked to them about a woman named Jenny Etherington as I sat beside her on a plane back from Australia, in 2003. At the time she was a garlic farmer in Cawston and we knew of community as a result of wine-tasting. Anyway, it turned out that she sold her property to these people and according to them she was not a very nice person to deal with over the course of the sale. Interesting backstory!], and Gabi and Dave, all from Cawston, about an hour south of us. Same community as Orofino. Thank you..DBJS Hi Jake! Missed you at the Farmers' Market. Nevertheless, had a grand time on such a grand day. Cheers, Patrizzio!
