Malt Whisky and Whiskey and Willd Wild Wimmins Blues: Friday, March 10th!

One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back. -Carl Sagan, astronomer and writer (1934-1996)

Hello Penguin, Ragin' Bull and Fast Eddy! Just a quick note to thank you all for such a wonderful evening of bridge, food and frivolity! Thanks to The Penguin for hosting, (even though we didn't need a bathtub full of water), and for the delish lasagna. Thanks to Ragin' for the wonderful salad fixin's and to Fast Eddy for the dessert extraordinaire! Evening was sorely lacking in bridge prizes but the bidding wars were wonderful in spite of this glaring shortcoming! Terrific to see everyone and trust we might do something similar soon, perhaps two tables next time.

Thanks, as well, for the ride back to Harbour Terrace, Fast Eddy. Much appreciated. Stay well, everyone, and hope our paths will cross again, in the not too, too distant future. Cheers, Il Conduttore/Patrizzio! Pics: Bidding Maniacs!

Thank you all for making it fun night Ed  Ditto. Thx Pat. And thx to everyone for contributing to dinner, even though one of you took the left over hummus with you. 😄 It wasn’t me!!! Branko Hi Kids! Dearest Penguin, you must have been drunker than you thought you were as you told me to take the houmus! Probably would have filched it anyway, as a bridge prize, since there were no official awards! Cheers, Il Conduttore! Thanks for sharing the photos Patrizzio! Always enjoy them. I promise to make up for the lack of prizes. Once I restock from the many trade shows we go to I will most certainly share with you and everyone else. Have a super weekend! Charlie

Looks like you are having a fun vacation...if you actually go on vacation when you are retired! As for the prizes...not to worry Pat...next time we convene for a rowdy game of bridge, I will have some fabulous prizes...just like you used to give out 😊 Cheers Janet

FCCC elliptizer Stats for yesterday and today: 3.3 miles, 1043 calories, 13,000' climbed  over 70 minutes on Thursday, 3.7 miles, 1061 calories, 13, 295' climed over same time today

I'm still in. finished the book. You could forget the pot luck this time in order to make it easier on those going to the Kitchen Stove show. I'm flexible. Judi Hello Patrizzio: That time suits me fine. Should some of the others wish to change to the next Thursday (23rd) that would be ok too. Hope all is well in your world. Don’t forget to set your clock ahead tomorrow. Cheereo and Hugs from Von Bingen 😊

Hi Old Farts, Our outing next Thursday will be a bit different than our normal for March. We are going to attack Mount Parker from White Lake Road, something we wouldn’t normally do until well into Spring. You may be hiking and you may be snowshoeing, so come prepared for both! It is possible that you will carry your snowshoes most of the way, but you need to be prepared!
We will:

-meet at 0900 at Home Hardware north parking lot in Penticton (0840 at IGA in Summerland). -carpool and make our way to out staring point on White lake Road. -hike and snowshoe up the south side of Mount Parker. -return to vehicles and head for coffee and debriefing as decided by the group.
Are you interested? If so, please let Otto Strobel know. Here is his email address. Remember, contact Otto, not me, as I will be visiting the wild lands of Medicine Hat for a few days. I’ll be thinking of you! Cheers, Jim French

Along with 300 other IQ Metrix employees, Tiernan just returned from his company sponsored, tenting vacation on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. They made this video to document the event: <https://youtu.be/7xeOGJYXZXA> Hi Filmer! Quite enjoyed the clip of Tiernan's tenting vacation. Nice life indeed! Did they use the Flyboard Air? Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Big Al! I guess this will be the latest special effects technology! Cheers, Patrizzio! This video clip of a flying man (on top of a drone) was shot in Naples, FL - about 60 miles south of Sarasota -- saw nothing about it in the paper. Shades of the old Buck Rogers! Perhaps your next aviation adventure should lean in this direction!!

“The video below was sent to me by a friend. Afterward, I found several others including one where he set a world record for distance traveled of 7,388 ft. The board has 4 small turbojet engines (used in RC model aircraft) for lift and 2 smaller ones on the side for stabilization. The backpack is full of fuel (not flotation). There is a remote to control the vertical thrust. The control of the craft is through shifting one’s balance (along with a computer to aid in stabilization).”  The Incredible Flyboard Air
