Ragin' Bulll, Fast Eddy and The Penguin SIng the Wild Bididng Blues: Monday, October 23rd!

Remember, we all stumble, every one of us. That's why it's a comfort to go hand in hand. -Emily Kimbrough, author and broadcaster (23 Oct 1899-1989)

Bridgers Anonymous! Patrizzio was going to send out a final notice, but is obviously far, far, overwhelmed by his voluntary duties, and now, probably dips-doodling his way to a 101.33K ride. Pat and I will take care of the main course/Greek salad; Janet is on dessert; Ed, if you can bring some appies … but go light! There will be *lots* of food!

I will have the main course timed for 18:00, so Ed, come on over any time, even early if you can. Weather report calls for some sun, so a beer on the deck might be possible. Janet, when you get here, there will be leftovers! Pat, give me a call in the a.m. to finalize any shopping etc. that needs to be done. Btw, Lady Dar is more than welcome to join us for dins before her foray to more culturally significant pursuits.

On the Bridge front, I have cards (carefully shuffled, so I will deal all hands) and notepaper. But I have already calculated the final scores. Again, the address is the big green house / hedge; across from the church. Branko
PS: I am also making some mushroom soup. Hello Monday Night CBC Bridge Fans! How simply wonderful to be back in Vancouver where the food is prepared and eaten by the those preparing the dishes before the guests have a chance for even a wee bite! As well, great to know that the decks are stacked so that all the wonderful bridge prizes stay with Ragin' Bull! Makes we want to stay at The Heartbreak Hotel where Lady Dar is preparing a wonderful spaghetti squash chicken casserole and I, as scullion, am at least allowed to lick the spoons for meagre sustenance after all my VWF volunteer duties. But don't worry about me, I've decided I don't eat with my meals anyway so will simply sit in the corner knocking back all the fabulous Okanagan wines I plan on bringing! Fondestos from Lady Dar, clanging pots and pans in the kitchen, and hurling furiously nasty looks at me, as I scribe, on my first break since 5:30 am! Cheers, Convict Conduttore!

This evening, with Victor, then with card sharks, Ragin' Bull, The Penguin and Fast Eddy! Ragin' served an incredible lamb roast. Dad Did you order me a new computer??? lol Well whatever you ordered arrived tonight, do you need me to do anything with it?? xx

Dear Friends Everyday life has caught up with us very quickly and we are working on the "overtaking track" again. But we do not want to complain and we like to think back to our trip to Canada. We think about all the beautiful moments with our friends. We would like to thank you for your lovely and very pleasant hospitality, which we were able to learn. Thanks again for everything, it was just great! If you want to travel to Switzerland, we would be happy to be your host. Let it know ... you are more than welcome!! We wish you nice autumn in the beautiful Canada .... and hopefully see you soon. All the best and, above all, good health and beautiful moments. With kind regards Annemarie und Rudi

Hi Old Farts! This Thursday, we are planning to hike into Charcoal Mountain (at least that’s our name for it).  It is to the east of Skaha Bluffs, and should be displaying its beautiful larch tree colours about now. We will: -meet at 0800 at Home Hardware north parking lot in Penticton (0740 at IGA parking lot in Summerland). -carpool and drive to the Skaha Bluffs parking area. -hike up the eastern slopes into the area of Charcoal Mountain (and perhaps even to its top).
-return to the cars-choose a place for debriefing and refreshment. Please give me a quick nod if you are intending to join us.

Looking ahead just a bit…. We are planning to do our annual hike into South Slope and the area of the mountain sheep again.  It will take place on Thursday, November 2nd (Mark it on your calendar).  It will be a long day, beginning at 0700. More info to follow…this is just a heads up. We are nearing our limit for numbers of folks we can handle at breakfast.  Just a couple of spots left, so let me know quickly if you still wish to join us.  Remember, it begins at 0800 at Shades on Main, in Penticton. And one last glance ahead…..tentatively, we are planning to hold our annual Christmas picnic on Thursday, December 14th, Mark it on your calendar! Cheers, Jim
