Thanksgiving Overlefts & Blade Runner 2049 Blues: Monday, October 9th!

There's no money in poetry, but then there's no poetry in money, either. -Robert Graves, poet and novelist (1895-1985)

Hello Happy Thanksgiving Bridge Players! Trust your turkey dinner was delicious, if you had your Thanksgiving meal yesterday, as did we, here at Burns Street, or if today, that it will be wonderful as well. Lady Dar and I can only play on Tuesday,  Wednesday or Friday, this week. Josinta and Olga Polga are duking it out to see who will host so please let me know, if you have not already done so, when you are available to play and we'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheer, Patrizzio! Pic: Please hurry up and serve the turkey, Katie and Chloë, we're starving! Patrick and Corinne, Thank you very much for the invitation to join you at the Orofino pick up party. It was quick but it was fun. I haven't been to that area and it was nice to see it. Btw for future reference I was told the Peach King (across from the big bear) had the best Samosas. That might be a fun outing...a Samosa taste test! I ran into Chloe on the KVR this morning. We had a nice chat. I am in the East until Oct. 22 so I am unable to play next week. Pamela

Hi Patrick Tuesday works best for me this week. I hope you are enjoying leftovers today😊 Judy I am not able to play this week and I am away next week. With fall activities starting up Wednesday night is the best night for me to play. What about 6.30pm at my house on Wednesday.I am lucky that my game of tennis was moved to 3.30pm this week, which means I can be done by 6pm.
Olly if you want to volunteer as well it would be nice if we do this Wednesday at your house and the following week at mine? Let me know what you think of this idea. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Jos Hoping everyone had a great Thanksgiving this weekend!! Everyone is welcome at the the Egilson's home on Wednesday, so 6:30pm ... game on!! See you then 👍

And best wishes for a great Thanksgiving to you,Corrine and Chloe!
Hugs, see you soon, Olly
Hi Olga Polga, Josinta et al! Thank you for arranging to host, between the two of you, this week and next. Sorry Judy Blue, but the game will be tomorrow night so that leaves you out in the bidding cold! We will offer a toast to you tomorrow evening after the first Grand Slam is bid and made! Lady Dar and I will be at Egilson's Eyrie around 6:30 pm tomorrow but next week we will be in Vancouver, volunteering at the VWF. For those of you interested and able to  play, Josinta will host on October 18th at 6:30 pm. Please let her know if you will attend. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Old Farts, It’s time to get an announcement out for this Thursday. And it is time to get to Lundbom Lake to see the fall colours. For those who don’t know, Lundbom Lake is above Merritt to the south, about 1 ½ hours drive from Summerland. We will: -gather at 0800 at IGA parking lot in Summerland (0740 at Home Hardware north parking lot in Penticton) -carpool and drive to Lundbom Lake -hike in the area, enjoy the autumn grasslands and trees, and perhaps get a view from then top of Sugarloaf Mountain. -choose a place for refreshments and debriefing. -return. I would guess that we will not return until late afternoon. If you wish to join us, I ask that you give me a nod, so that we have an idea of numbers. Looking forward to seeing you there! Cheers, Jim
