Last Hurrah in The Beach House at Silverstrand: Sunday, July 9th!

Every burned book or house enlightens the world; every suppressed or expunged word reverberates through the earth from side to side. -Ralph Waldo Emerson, writer and philosopher (1803-1882)

Up at 6:50 am to the cooing of the pigeons on the neighbours second story patio so crept into the kitchen to make my java. Marlo came down a few minutes later to take a shower and The Service Dog and Ayn just arrived to give Sir Winston his drink of water. I'll have a bite to eat and then head out, before 8:00 am, as I've been instructed to go for my ride and be back before 1:00 pm to dog-sit, of all things! Apparently, Lady Dar had the luncheon date with Ayn and Rosita wrong and it is for this afternoon. Ayn forgot Winston's service vest so she cannot take him to the restaurant and according to the beach house agreement, he cannot be left alone. The Bright Young Things are off to Melrose Avenue, in West Hollywood, to scope the cool boutiques thereabouts. Patti and her Goils are going to Universal Studios so I am the only adult left to care for poor, abandoned Winston! Duke and Etta will never forgive me, Dear Reader!

Hi Patrick.  We have just heard about the terrible forest fires in central BC.  I think most are in the Kamloops area but hope you are not also affected.  Haven't heard from you in a while so hope all is ok with you and Corinne? And the lovely Chloe too? Luv Gayle and Der

Hi Gayle and Derek! Trust you are both well. With all the travel and wedding palaver, we seem to have lost touch with Penticton and environs, although Rosie-the-Riveter did mention, yesterday, while on her iPad, the terrible fires around both Ashcroft and Cache Creek, not all that far from Kamloops as you mention. Fondestos to you both, from Lady Dar, busy preparing breakfast for the assembled hordes, (11 in total), and Chloƫ, in the shower, for the next week, busy primping for The Farmers' Market we are about to drive to! More, anon, when back in Penticton, on Monday, July 17th. I'm staying in Vancouver for Folk Fest, (14th-16th), before driving back to the Okanagan to ready house for next round of Freeloaders! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi all We have decided to come to your pace for Thursday night but will go up to spirit ridge on Friday and Saturday night . Mike and Jeanette wanted to go up as well . Given you have a full house from your last email you probably welcome the diminished number of guests See you next week Michele

Hello Old Oak and Company! Just heard from Flamin' and Sarge and they will now only be staying for Thursday night so if you haven't already changed your travel plans and reservations we will be without Freeloaders come Friday! You are still welcome at The Burns Street Gin Joint and Hot Sheets Hotel on Thursday so let us know what you think and we'll plan accordingly.

When in Vancouver for Folk Fest, (14th-16th), I'll be staying at the Keatings but thought I'd pop by Harbour Terrace to drop off your bike, shoes, gloves, etc., and collect what I'd left there. Will anyone be home? What time? Let me know and I'll plan accordingly. Thanks. Fondestos from Winston. Cheers, Patrizzio!
