Caffè Bar Sattler and the Bern Museum of Fine Arts Blues: Friday, October 4th!

He serves his party best who serves the country best. -Rutherford B. Hayes, 19th US president (4 Oct 1822-1893)

Hello all. Don’t suppose someone can lend me The Gentleman...? Huge waiting list with ORL. Take care. Lou Hi Luigi, et al! We can lend you the book. I'm almost finished it but you have to wait until we return to Penticton on October 12th! [You should have plenty of time to finish it before next book club as I find it hard to put down. Would otherwise be finished but seem always on the go. Life of a traveler is most difficult and ever trying, Dear Reader!] Lady Dar "purloined" it from our VRBO in Vienna and since it was in hardback read it quickly so I'd have to mule it across Europe! Fondestos from her to one and all.

Must away as we are off to meet friends for java and then to the Bern Museum of Fine Arts for our last full day here. We leave for Valence tomorrow morning for three nights with friends nearbye and then into Paris for last four days before flying home. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Alberto and I a few days ago! He seemed quite jealous of my new chapeau, purchased in the market in one of the old town squares earlier. Love the pics and chapeau!  Can’t wait to see you guys again and hear more of your adventures. Thanks in advance for lending me the book. Take care. Luigi

Hi Nicole: Very, very sorry to hear about your grandmother's death. Sincere condolences to you and your family from us both. Sorry I didn't reply sooner but it was a busy, full day yesterday. In any event, we look forward to meeting at Caffè Bar Sattler at 10:00 am this morning. See you shortly. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Sorry I’ve haven’t written in a bit, work has been busy and i am not sleeping well and am just so tired lately. I’m feeling aches and pains. Excited for you to be home i need that extra push to get my place organized and want your opinion on a rug and drapes and hanging art. As well the babies room is a mess of stuff. Judi texted this morning Duke brought in a live bird into the spare room and she couldn’t get it, she said she called Colin and he got it out. I feel awful for her the cats have been so much work. Be careful in Paris and enjoy your last week. Love you both. I miss you too! Looking forward to being home. Also to help you with your place. Has Colin been over? We really need to get that suite started so you have the income. I think we need to put big bells on the cat collars so they can’t catch birds. Looking forward to France but also ready to come home. Must be getting old. Love you loads you will soon be on maternity leave. Hugs Mom

Thanks for the lovely pics and travel dialog you sent from Croatia. It sounded and looked awesome. Soon you will be home and be able to tell us your travels in person. I have just returned from a few days at sparkling hills and have returned rested and rejuvenated. A friend of mine stayed over so Bennie wouldn’t be lonely!! He was very happy to see me on my return. My days to work are now 2 so it gives me a bit more time to be social and get stuff accompolished at regina ave!!!! As well as spend quality time with ben Cathy and Ian are returning this week from a 5 week sojourn in England so am looking forward to seeing them also. Enjoy the rest of your stay and travel safe Looking forward to seeing you soon Judy xoxox

Here’s a classic to give relief this dreary morning! Hardly recognize John Cleese.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKHFZBUTA4k Beautiful! Those were the days of wooden ships and iron men. D Brilliant, this was before Monty python and one of four Yorkshire men in the sketch was Marty Feldman . Mike Yes I remember Marty Feldman….always wondered how he saw straight! A

Peaky Blinders Season 5 is now on Netflix!
Hello Fartograms, They keep coming ... and all you have to do is show up! This Monday we are going to Ramble up Naramata Creek Canyon for about 2 to 3 hours depending on how far up the creek (without a paddle) the group wants to go. Our leader will be the well-known British Explorer Phillip Robson. So, we will be in good hands, no reason for you to be nervous or not show up! As usual, we will get together at the new location in Penticton (map attached), Summerlanders will gather at the IGA, then carpool to Penticton. After the hike, we will relax, celebrate the achievement of the day and enjoy our favorite elixir. See you Monday, Cheers, Aart, the mountain Bard
