Val-De-Ri, Val-De-Ra and The Happy Wanderer Blues: Thursday, October 3rd!

You have reached the pinnacle of success as soon as you become uninterested in money, compliments, or publicity. -Thomas Wolfe, novelist (3 Oct 1900-1938)

Up at just after 7:05 am to put my java on. I'd set it up the night before so all I had to do was turn the element on. Nikolevitch was still sleeping so I poured the first batch for myself and around 7:30 am I went into the room where he had slept to make sure he was awake. He had said he wanted to be up by then as he had to make his way back to Zurich that morning. He was awake by then and clambered out of bed while I put on another pot of java.

He was happy with a bowl of yogurt and crumbled cookies, [my answer to not having any Granola or Alpen!], and we chatted, mainly about Clan Sutherland, and I brought him up-to-date on the lives of Flamin' and Sarge, as well as Ryan, Corey and NIcole and their own families. Shortly after 8:00 am Lady Dar was up, just in time to say goodbye to Nicolas. I walked him downstairs and urged him to come to Penticton to mount an art project with Paul Crawford, Director of PAG. Who knows, perhaps he will as he has done a number around Europe, together with his students, the two most recent in Prague and Genoa.

Fairly lazy morning ahead as we will be collected, at 1:30 pm by Anna Maria Tremonte and Rudi Rudenheimer, who will take us on an outing, somewhere in the country-side to be followed by dinner at their lovely home in Ortschwaben, before returning us to Bern.

Murten, or Morat, is a German- and French-speaking medieval town on the southeast shore of Lake Murten, in western Switzerland. Its defensive walls offer views of the lake and the decorated arcades of the old town.

Saturday, February 1st Dream's Doors open at 6pm Show 8pm: Alfie Zappacosta is undeniably one of Canada's premier songwriters and performers with chart topping hits and a recording and acting career that has spanned 40 years. He continues to evolve as an artist by "doing it his way", an effort that has been rewarded with an impressive song catalogue and a discerning loyal fan base. Zappacosta has polished his live concert performances exposing his sophisticated, intimate and intense personality. His performances deliver a blend of acoustic, jazz and pop music prompting the listener to engage soulfully. And the hits that originally brought Zappacosta to the world's attention? - Alfie hasn't turned his back on any of these songs. You will hear them in his program performed the way they were originally written and meant to be heard.
