Pigalle and the Reconnoitre Moulin Rouge Blues: Wednesday, October 9th!

Death is a friend of ours; and he that is not ready to entertain him is not at home. -Francis Bacon, essayist, philosopher, and statesman (1561-1626)

Hello Duhlink, et al! Trust you and Madcap are well and ready for the Moulin Rouge! We arrived yesterday afternoon and once settled in our Ibis Budget Paris Porte de Bercy, Bercy 2, 2, place de l'Europe Paris, 94220 Charenton-le-Pont.

Spartan room sports a Queen, which is quite comfortable, and two thin pillows. I don't mind but Lady Dar likes larger ones! No hair dryer so Her Imperiousness is quite fussed! Only a tiny shelf desk with a square plastic stool, not even bed-side shelves or another chair so we watch BBC World News lying on bed. From Chateau Chabeuill to a cardboard box on the banks of the industrial part of the Seine!], other end of city to you, in Montmartre, I believe, we made our way to Shakespeare and Company and then to view Notre-Dame. Later that evening we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at La Robe et Le Palais, a great spot we first discovered in 2010 and then visited again in 2013.

We have made reservations for four, 1:30 pm on Thursday, for lunch, if that will work for you. [There are also a number of terrific restaurants near Rome Station, near to you, where we ate in 2010 to great enjoyment.] I've appended a screen shot so you will have Metro route from your hotel to the restaurant. Let us know what you think and we'll plan accordingly, based on your arrival, other plans, etc. Off to do more exploring. Fondestos from Lady Dar to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio! La Robe et Le Palais
Hi Pat Which restaurant have you booked for lunch? See you both tomorrow. I’ve just got back from Pilates, then acupuncture then picking up Mike from work as his car is in the garage so I’m....Shattered of Mill Hill Penny xx Having reread your email I guess you’ve booked the Robe et le Palais for lunch - Mike originally thought it was closed for lunch but now realises that it is! Thanks for all the instructions and see you there at 1.30. XxxHello Again, Duhlink! Trust you will be able to find this spot. We had a devil of a time in spite of GPS instructions from numerous helpful Parisians! Well worth the effort, nonetheless. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Shades of finish of glorious GranFondo ride! Second time, for me, and was extremely, extremely pleased with how my legs felt after the frustrating cramping which developed just before I left Kaleden on my first effort.
