Rowan James and The Tinsel Town Blues: Thursday, February 20th!

It is horrifying that we have to fight our own government to save the environment. -Ansel Adams, photographer (20 Feb 1902-1984)

At LAX waiting to be picked up, the noise was very overwhelming!

Sounds like a good one but we will be in Princeton Saturday and Sunday. See you at the Chili Mug tonight? Dame Judith Hi Dame Judith! Great visit before The Dream! Thanks for coming over. Too, too bad about being away. Yes, I picked up a ticket after I dropped The Tinsel Towners off at the airport so see you later. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Duke and friends! LA Bound! Which mug?

[Cool baby!! Baby Blues Brother!]

Hi Folks I wanted to get the Quiz Night announcement out to you early in order to give you more time to study and prepare for the event. I have attached a registration form and event information. I hope you are able to participate again this year. Hanneke and I are off to New Zealand tomorrow and will be back in town on March 17th. Regards....Doug and Hanneke. Shall we put a table together? Dunn squared and the Dronkos? A&J Sure I'm in. Corinne
Hi Patrick, and by extension, Corrine, First, many thanks for a lovely lamb dinner. We are big fans of lamb. We even have a local (Armstrong local) supplier of organically raised whole lamb. Your lamb was as good as lamb gets. We spent a few days celebrating at Sparkling Hills - our anniversary. Usually it's a one night affair, but this year we went all out and stayed for two.

[Bathing in Aunty's sink!]

Maiden - such a romping good documentary of a courageous young woman. We all three - meaning Gordon as well - very much enjoyed the film. On Monday we went with our eldest, Tara, to Kelowna and saw another highly rated film, but of a very different sort: Parasite. Hope this short note finds you in good health, and till we meet again, stay well my friends, Bill, and by extension, my better half, Rita.

Welcome Home Anniversary/Movie Buffs! Although I included you in the earlier message, about Dream, I'm not sure if you read it! If you, Extendo Bill, and the Lovely Rita, or other friends or family might be interested, let me know, [the sooner the better], and I'll let Hazel know. I'll be selling 50/50 tickets so am looking forward to the show, and you could "job shadow" beforehand!

[Drying off!]

I agree, Maiden was a portrait of courage/emotional strength and as much a journey into self-knowledge as one around the world. Really wish to see Parasite and, coincidentally, heard an interesting discussion of it on early morning radio, in the wee smalls, [Lady Dar, Chloë and Rowan James left for Tinsel Town this morning, for two weeks, so I can sleep with the bedside radio on all night!], which makes taking it in all the more pressing.

Took in the Chili Mugs event at the PAG tonight and it was a blast. I voted for Bogner's Spicy Three Bean Duck Sausage, topped with squash Gnocchi and it was voted best dish of the competition. Fabuloso! All the other eight were terrific as well so everyone had a wonderful time tasting and visiting. Am hoping to ride tomorrow but have to wait until I hear from the electrician who is working on Chloë's basement as he might pop by our place to do a number of small re-wiring jobs that Lady Dar insists need changing!  Let me know about the Dream on Saturday. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Dream; Tinsel Town bound; Chili Mugs Winner, Bognar's, and my Penguin!

[Nap on Nana’s bed!]

Hello Chili Muggers! Great night so thanks to one and all! I voted for Bogner's Spicy Three Bean Duck Sausage, topped with squash gnocchi, and, as you know, it was voted best dish, [Fabuloso indeed!], of the competition. Mine must have been the deciding ballot! All the other eight were terrific as well so a wonderful time tasting and visiting. Cheers, Patrizzio! Not to well fund this critically important institution is to silence one of the most needed media outlets, in any historical epoch but especially in this 1984 time of demagoguery and "news-speak/fake news". Canadians, and the world community, need, more than ever, balanced, informed in-depth analysis of local, regional, national and international political, social and environmental issues. CBC has always done this in the past and must, must be supported to continue doing the same today and in the future. Request to appear at the hearing: Do not wish to appear
