Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar Blues: Wednesday, February 19th!

There's nothing that makes you so aware of the improvisation of human existence as a song unfinished. Or an old address book. -Carson McCullers, writer (19 Feb 1917-1967)

Hi Lovely card, a bit opposite to my world. Today is probably one of those days I want to forget / snow, pouring rain and then temperatures dip to from 7 to -4 .
I need to get out to shovel and then walk the dogs -yuk.

I can hardly wait to leave on Friday for my St Maartens and India adventure.
Dinao is in Mexico on a working trip with a photographer hired by the New Yorker and WWF . They are photographing the butterflies. It so cool . It’s the same place where the activist and a guide was murdered a few weeks ago. It seems safe right now, but I’m crossing my fingers. Below is a video of the butterflies. Well I’m off to shovel - thanks for thinking of me. Love Rhoda ❣️

Martin is the lead singer, songwriter and focal point of the group. A dynamic front woman, she possesses a stunning voice that is capable of summoning up tidal waves of spine-tingling emotion in one instance while delicately bringing out the nuances of a gut wrenching lyric in the next. A torrid force of nature, night after night she takes audiences to emotional peaks while leaving them stunned with her sheer pin-you-against-the-wall power.

While Martin is a powerhouse unto herself, the vocal alchemy of Delta Sugar is not the work of a single talent. In combination with what she likes to term her “co-vocalists,” Sherie Marshall and Mwansa Mwansa, the vocal blend Delta Sugar produces is pure, unadulterated gospel-tinged, neuron-tingling magic where the sum is even richer than the already soul-melting parts.

Hi Colleen and Al! Trust you are both well. I do apologize for not sending this note along sooner but here it is. Please remind Sue that we are holding her tenderly and lovingly.

Dearest, dearest Sue! It is with great, deep sorrow that we write to you, knowing, through Colleen and Al, the state you are in. Words simply cannot begin to express how we feel but please know that our hearts go out to you and that you are ever in our thoughts. We so enjoyed hearing about your most recent time in Mexico and, of course, were reminded of the wonderful time we spent with you and Gerry in San Miguel. The stunning desert landscape you so generously presented us with is one of our most treasured possessions, its vibrant colours and faultless lines a lasting testament to you and your rich, rich talent. Again, our heartfelt love to you, Sue. Corinne and Patrick.

Hard, if not impossible to go on but having seen your post about being snowed-in at Sunshine Valley I thought you might enjoy taking a look at Monday's outing. [Album below] Funnily enough, although there was fresh snow at higher elevations, the streets, here in town and elsewhere, are wonderfully dry so I've had nothing but marvellous rides over last week or so.

Just shouldares today as I haven't done a full set for a few days. As well we are off to The Dream tonight to see Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar. Tomorrow, The Sisterhood and Rowan James are off to Tinsel Town so it's all alone for Etta, Duke and I! Must away to do my shouldares as Dame Judith is coming for a drink before we leave for The Dream and I have orders, from Her Royal Imperiousness, off running errands, to be showered and changed well before she arrives. Fondestos to you both in this difficult, difficult time. Love, Patrizzio!

Pics: Bridge Monday evening; Duke wanted to play so he curled up next to Carol's sweater. She is on left in last picture. Lady Dar with Rowan James yesterday. Don't know which one is supposed to be in charge! Toshi with Ayn, having lunch. She was in Sun Valley, for a conference and had a chance to visit. I took her snowshoeing to Idleback when she was here last year, at about the same time!

Hello Live Music Fans! Lady Dar and I really enjoyed hearing Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar this evening. Simply fabulous! When there, Hazel mentioned that there would be a number of tables for the taking, [no cover charge], this coming Saturday so I thought I'd let you know about The Wardens:

Original music & stories from the Canadian Rockies: The Wardens don’t just sing about the land, they’re part of it. With haunting three-part harmonies and chilling tales, The Wardens' mountain music rises from land they’ve protected as rangers in the Rocky Mountain national parks. Wrangling grizzly bears, rescuing stranded hikers and lonely nights on the packtrail. It's “the quintessential mountain-culture concert experience.

If any of you, or other friends or family might be interested, let me know, [the sooner the better], and I'll let Hazel know. I'll be selling 50/50 tickets so am looking forward to the show. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Lady Dar with Anna, our server and then Janine, another 50/50 volunteer. Last night's act and poster for The Wardens.

Hi Muriel! Pleased to meet you and your husband. Here are a few snapolas from the performance. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Hazel! Fabulous show indeed! Here are the two snaps I took of you and some of Samantha/Delta Sugar. I have sent out a message to friends I think might be interested in Saturday's show but have yet to hear back. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello Patrick So there is a form I can fill out for you to transfer the assets to your RBC bank account and from there we can contribute to your TFSA. The process apparently can be lengthy and was advised that it is many times faster for clients to redeem the account themselves and then proceed with the contribution.

As for the holdings – there is another option if you wish to continue to hold the shares without maintenance fees. If that is what you would like to do – let me know and I can give you those options! Let me know if that helps or you have any other questions. Warmest Regards,
Tina Hi Tina! Thanks for doing the legwork! I would like to chat. Did leave a phone message but I'm planning to head out to run a few errands so perhaps you could send a message suggesting a time, next week, I could call, or pop by bank, to chat. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrick That sounds good – I am here next week Monday and Thursday in Penticton as a definite – let me know if either of those days work and a preferred time and I will see you then! Take care, Tina Hi again, Tina! I'm snowshoeing on Monday morning/early afternoon so it would need to be sometime between 3:00 pm-4:00 pm if that day. I'm free all day on Thursday but would prefer to meet sooner than later, if that might work, given what I've noted. At any rate, I can fit in to your schedule so don't worry overmuch, just suggest whichever date/time is easiest for you. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi again! That sounds like a great Monday thing to do! Unfortunately I have meetings in Summerland in the afternoon but I could make Wednesday work – how is that for you? Take care, Tina Hi Girl Wednesday! Wednesday is just fine. The earlier the better, for me, so that I can squeeze in a ride if weather allows, but I'll fit in to your schedule. Let me know and I'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!
