Re-Wiring Curious Cats Teeth Cleaning Two Tables of Bridge Blues: Wednesday, April 12th!

To the complaint, 'There are no people in these photographs,' I respond, 'There are always two people: the photographer and the viewer.' -Ansel Adams, photographer (1902-1984)

Hello Patrizzio thanks for all the news about you life ( a very busy one) in the Okanagan. I run into Jim and Joycelyn at the opera broadcast movie, it was lovely to see them. Otherwise life is a quiet one. Next week it will be full blast, too much opera but we have to be there to help. The weather is nutzo , beautiful warm and sunny spring day yesterday and today dark rainy and miserable. I am going out for lunch with a friend, and in the afternoon, I be on the couch with a book. Take care always Gisela

Hi Patrick James Gray passed away. Just wasn't sure if you had heard about this. As always Jo-Anne

Hi Jo-Anne! Your lovely Easter card and note arrived in this morning's mail, [Thank you!], so I read the very sad news, indeed, about the deaths of Claire and James. Both wonderful, wonderful people and I always thoroughly looked forward to and enjoyed my chats with them, usually when passing through the Curric Lab, en route to one classroom or another. Time flies so don't waste it fussing about age and fragility. Just get on with enjoying every minute you have, whether at work or at play.

Speaking of which have a grand time in Playa del Carmen. We were first there in 2014, at a destination wedding. First time, for us, on east coast of Mexico. While we had a terrific time, over the week we were there, I would like to return to explore much more of the surrounding countryside. We did go to a small pyramid, (Which we climbed, I in my Crocs!), as well as swam in a nearbye cenote, lowered by harness and rope. Some of the younger set climbed out, on a swaying rope ladder, but I took the easy way out and was hauled back up to the surface. Somewhat like being in the Grotta Azzurra in Capri! Anyway, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.

I will be curious to see who becomes next UL. Is Ingrid simply ready to retire or is there something "darker" at work? University politics! Not only at UBC but right here in little old Penticton with Lady Dar and Grandmothers for Africa. She is spearheading a caroling fund-raising project for this coming December and the organization approached SOWINS, (South Okanagan Women in Need Society), and their fund-raiser is being extremely difficult! Who knows why especially since SOWINS would receive half of monies raised and would only need to provide a minimal amount of volunteer support.

I prefer to go riding! Had a simply grand one yesterday, [See below, if interested!], while Telus technician was hooking us up to new fibre optic service. Now I send messages at twice the speed of light! Today, two chaps from a local electric firm we had contacted, earlier, came to do some up-grades to our electrical system. Have endured a number of relatively small, yet nagging problems ever since we moved in so we wanted to have them sorted before we paint both bedrooms, [a few plugs needed to be re-positioned or installed], and have some space-age insulation, [Attic was done this past February.], affixed to the floor joists in the crawl space. Stuart and Rocky just left and I was very, very impressed with their work, both were most pleasant and friendly, not to mention extremely efficient and made little, if any mess at all, given what they had to accomplish.

Must away as I need to vacuum to ready house for two tables of bridge were are hosting this evening. Happy Easter and Happy Hols! Buona Fortuna and Bon Voyage! Travel safely and drink plenty of expensive Tequila! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pics: Miss Etta napping before electricians arrived; Rocky and Stuart, with beard. Lady Dar with her free popcorn at Lens on Lent last night. We watched The Butler. Do you know it? What a powerful, disturbing, moving film!

This evening we hosted two tables of bridge so it was loads of fun. One of the couples, Gill and Phil, (Both from England, originally, aka Jack Rabbit and Phillipo!), are coming for Easter dinner on Sunday. Lady Dar has ordered a turkey so looking forward to that.

Sorry guys, but things has changed for me at the last moment, and I can not attend, my apology. Till next time. Cheers. Mike Hello Bridge Dummies! Thanks to everyone for the fun filled evening. Sorry for going down, disastrously, on my ill-thought Small Slam bid, Phillipo, but at least we weren't vulnerable! Happy Easter to one and all. Let me know who would like to host next week and we'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Two Table Trauma!
