Summerlandia SIngs The Bidding Wars Blues: Wednesday, March 14th!

Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth. -Albert Einstein, physicist, Nobel laureate (14 Mar 1879-1955)

Hello Two Table People! Judy Blue is Hockey Woman tonight so cannot join us, [Boo Hoo!], but Naramata Goil and The Spiller Road Folk can so we, the five of us, will car pool from Burns Street. This being the case, hillbillies please be at our house by 6:10 pm so we can make journey to Summerlandia. Delighted to learn that Olga Polga will be there as well. Michaelo, are you around, back from Cuba, tanned and sun blond? Cheers, Patrizzio! Patrick, As it turns out I am unable to make Bridge tonight. Have a wonderful time and may the card gods smile on each of you. Pamela

One of my most treasured memories of Ted took place when he and two other friends and I drove to Los Angeles to attend the Rugby '7's. En route we went wine-tasting, in Napa and Sonoma, but outside Santa Cruz, traveling on Highway 1, along the Pacific, he suggested we stop so that he and the lads could practice their chipping skills in the gorgeous sand dunes. So we did just, he and Mick and Sir Andrew, hitting balls into the strong wind into the slopes of the surrounding dunes, happy as larks as no green fees! Ted always had an eye for finding fun in unlikely situations and took great pleasure in sharing his insights for the benefit and enjoyment of all. An incredible travel companion, not only on trips but also in life itself.

Hi Flamin' and Sarge, et al! Thank you both, again, for the lovely, lovely stay, wonderful meals and hootch extraordinaire! Drive back went very well on Monday and I was home by 4:00 pm, having not left until just after 11:00 am, visiting with Whirlygig until then and stopping at Costco in Abbotsford. Brownies are simply fabulous, Flamin', and I have been enjoying one each night for dessert! This morning I just finished off the last of your java industriale I took! Will return pan/cover and mugs when we are back this weekend.

Here is the address for church: Dear friends and family, We will be having a celebration of Ted’s life at Fairview Presbyterian Church, 2725 Fir Street, Vancouver on Friday, March 16 at 1pm. As well, in case you didn't see obituary:Dear friends and family, Ted's obituary is in the Vancouver Sun and Province today, [March 9th!], and over the weekend. You're welcome to sign the guest book or share a memory at  http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/vancouversun/obituary.aspx?n=edward-michael-keating-ted&pid=188406047&fhid=5868

Ragin': You will need to make your own way to church as we will go straight there, given timing of drive, etc. Raining quite steadily here so I hope it will wash the roads and shoulders clean of sand and grit. Will head to pool for deep-water walking later on. Have two tables of bridge in Summerland this evening. See some of you on Friday.
Only in for the night as a close friend, Ski, aka Rhoda, from Cape Breton, will be visiting on Sunday, staying for a few days.  Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrizzia, et al! Trust second Barrel Tasting weekend went well, in spite of the Grumpster's antipathy towards pairing tacos with red wine! Had a very busy weekend, myself, what with Dram on Friday evening and then two full days of Rugby '7's. Drive back went very well on Monday and I was home by 4:00 pm, having not left until just after 11:00 am, visiting with good friend Whirlygig, [He now lives on Galiano but happened to be in Vancouver for weekend. He was with Glasgow and I when we stayed at your place a number of years ago. You were away so didn't meet him.], until then and stopping at Costco in Abbotsford, for gas and groceries. Until next our paths cross, take care of yourself, Patrizzia, and The Crocless Grumpster! Fondestos from Lady Dar, just out to a Grandmothers for Africa meeting. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Dram! Sarge with a number of VWF volunteers and then Brenda Peterson, former colleague of mine at UBC Library. Painting I bought at Silent Auction. Lady Dar approves! Rugby '7's with Flamin' & Sarge, Saturday morning and then on Sunday. Scotland trounced Canada on way to win Challenge Cup, over Spain, in final, pool of those teams that did not advance to medal pool so Glasgow would have been downing Single Malt! Whirlygig just before I left town. Lady Dar and Duke cleaning up front yard! My favourite Cask Strength from Dram, 60%!

Hi dear friends whom I miss very much! If I have missed anyone I am sorry but please pass it on! Baby shower for our daughter Sam last Saturday. It went very well and I have included some pics and a short video. Hope you are all well. Miss everyone lots and lots! Pretty well settled in and house is great! Snowing a lot today so hunkered down with a good book in my Jammie’s! Xoxo πŸ€—♥️❤️πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ Barbie Hi Barbarella! Trust you are well. Really enjoyed the video of Sam's baby shower/proposal! One celebration after another. Can understand your move although you are missed, and terribly so!
Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrick: Thought the next book is Nine Folds Make a Paper……….but yes keep a copy of FIVE STAR BILLIONAIRE for me. I will drive up tomorrow am and have coffee with you if that works for you…. Ok…....Say about 10:00 am.…….I’ll bring the doughnuts Sounds like quite the project on the house. Be prepared to clean dust every day while they are working….………Cheereo and have a nice RAINY day.:😊😊 Hi Von Bingen! 10:00 am is more than fine! We are just back from playing bridge at Josinta's. Olga Polga was there as well as Gilliana and Filipo so we had loads of fun. See you tomorrow. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrizio: On Sunday, I'm thinking of leaving White Rock by 1 pm. I am in Vancouver for the night and I'm bussing to White Rick to get the car -I might be able to leave by noon. I was thinking of staying until Wed. am -how does that sound? Maybe I'll just stay until the end of my vacation! Just kidding. I might try to go to Nanaimo for the night on Wed., but I'm not sure . I have to be in Vancouver to meet my sister Joan on Friday.

Ron's swim: We travelled the Road to Hana yesterday and Ron swam in one of the many pools under a waterfall. The drive was very difficult but incredibly beautiful . It rained the entire day but the vegetation was lush and colourful. Maui is lovely! We have rented bikes and we are trying to bike around the area. I'm playing lots of pickleball-imagine! Is Wed. Ok?

Hi Waterfall and Pickleball People!  Glad you are enjoying Maui. If you leave White "Rick" by 1:00 pm you will probably be pulling up in front of our house between 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, which is fine by us and still daylight. Perhaps sooner, depending on traffic and how fast you drive. Anyway, just travel safely and we'll be waitng. No particular rush for dinner, etc.
You can make it to Nanaimo by Wednesday night but you should probably leave Penticton before noon, or earlier, depending on which ferry you plan to take. I assume you will leave from Tsawwassen, after returning car. Anyway, you can do some planning while you are here. Again, you are welcome to stay longer if Nanaimo seems like too, too much of a rush, etc. Always so much to do in usually so limited an amount of time. Fondestos to Waterfall Boy from Lady Dar and to you as well, Ski. Once here you can bunk with either Etta or Duke, your choice! You may want to leave on Monday! Cheers, Patrizzio!
