Out For A Ramble on the Hills Of Fowey Blues: Friday, April 20th!

Every man feels instinctively that all the beautiful sentiments in the world weigh less than a single lovely action. -James Russell Lowell, poet, editor, and diplomat (1819-1891)

Not downloading a ride which is saved to Rides. On April 19th the device "froze" towards the end of my ride. When I "thawed" it I saved the ride. However when I attempted to download the ride I was not able to do so. Is there a way to select a given ride from Rides? Thanks and Cheers! Thank you for contacting us. We've received your request and can typically respond within 2 business days, but it may take a bit longer during busy times of the year or if your query involves additional research. We're here Monday-Friday 8:30 - 17:30 GMT. Closed weekends and holidays.

Great pics, and yes, that trip is a long one when you do North America to Truro in one straight shot. I can remember sleeping until noon the next day when Mom finally woke me up Lol! Give poor Spuddy a cuddle from LA Love to all Ayn
Wonderful pics, it is such a beautiful area! Looks right out of Goodbye Christopher Robin xoxo Somebody loves her new hair color :) Hello women I love most!! And Poppa!! Xoxo

Hello professor!!! Very sassy!!!❤️

Hi Sassy Haircut Girl! Great style! Trust you are well. I did give Spuddy your best wishes whenever I stroked his head. Poor thing often cries but when petted seems to find comfort in the touch. In spite of their required care and concern for Spuddy, have been enjoying a splendid time with Gayle and Derek. Love and Cheers, Dad! Pics: Spuddy seeks attention; Cuddles at last!

Hi Nadine, A friend has asked me to forward this notice to anyone at UBC who knew Bill and may be interested in attending.  Could you please post this to the UBC Librarians Emeritus list - that is probably to best way to reach people.
Thanks, Peggy You're invited to attend abrief remembrance gathering for Bill Watson (1928 - 2018) When: Saturday, May 12, 20182:30 - 4:00 pm
Where: Kerrisdale Community Center in the South room of the Seniors Center 5851 West Blvd, Vancouver, BC  V6M3W9

Please come to remember Bill Watson, who died on Friday 13, 2018 at the age of ninety. Light snacks, sushi and refreshments. As for dress, it's casual, please come as you are. The event is hosted by Bill's three sons: Peter, Mike and Nick.
Bill, in his reticent fashion, didn't want any kind of funeral service or even a gathering in his honour. We feel certain, though, that his friends would like to say goodbye and share a few memories. We'll read a few very short speeches. If you have something relatively brief that you'd like to say about Bill, let us know when you RSVP. You could also send brief anecdotes by email if you can't attend. We are hoping to make the occasion convivial. Please RSVP by phone to Nick Watson or simply reply to this email.

Bill requested that there be no gifts or flowers and asked that, if people wish, they give a donation to the charity of their choice. Thanks for being a friend of our dad's. We will greatly miss him.Peter, Michael and Nick Watsonp.s. If you forget to RSVP, come anyway. We're asking merely to get a feel for the attendance. Note: Included below is the bio/obit that Bill wrote for himself:

William John Watson was born in Walkerville, Ontario, April 12, 1928.  He was raised and attended schools in Ottawa, graduating in 1950 from Carleton College in Journalism.  He later attended McGill University and graduated in 1955 with degrees in Islamic Studies and Librarianship.  He worked as a librarian at McGill, The University of British Columbia and the University of Waterloo. Bill and Flora Beryl Price were married in Regina in 1951. Their son Peter John was born in 1952; Michael William arrived in 1955; and Nicholas Price in 1960.  After a long illness Flora died in December, 2008.

Bill is survived by his three sons and their spouses: Peter Watson and Kathy Heins, NYC; Michael Watson and Maria Tratt, Vancouver; and Nicholas Watson, Vancouver. There are three grandchildren: Ronan Kiefer Nanning Watson, Aidan William Watson, and Stella Flora Watson, all of Vancouver. Bill died peacefully April 13, 2018, one day after his ninetieth birthday, following a brief battle with cancer.  Friends who wish to do so are asked to make a donation to their favourite charity in his honour.

Hello Peggy! Trust you are well. Saw your message to Nadine, regarding the death of Bill Watson, [I liked him very much but I will be away until July 10th, travelling in Europe, so obviously won't be at the Remebrance.], so I thought I'd send along a note. At the moment Lady Dar, aka Corinne, is now a Marriage Officiant, [Main reason for her not to be along as she has many weddings over the summer. We moved to Penticton at the end of May, 2015, and are extremely happy there! Come and visit! You are always welcome to stay and we can wine-taste together.], is in Winnipeg.  Fondestos to you Peggy. All the best. Cheers, Patrizzio!

PS: Jo-Anne Naslund will land in London day before I leave for France but timing is such that we are not able to connect. She's off to Istanbul after a week in England, to attend an International School Librarians conference, than back to London for another week. Retired life is grand, as you well know!
