Rosita's 94th Birthday Blues: Monday, January 28th!

Sit down and put down everything that comes into your head and then you're a writer. But an author is one who can judge his own stuff's worth, without pity, and destroy most of it. -Colette, author (28 Jan 1873-1954)

Hello Sunshine Snowbooters! A truly well-deserved round of thanks to Carlos for leading today's hike, [in spite of several petty palace revolts and egregious, unconstitutional over-rulings], in such incredible weather, over such terrific terrain, whether covered in snow or pine needles, and with such magnificent vistas of, in Kranky King Ottokar's inimitable characterization, Slumberland and environs. The company was more than congenial, the barbed wire forgiving and the sky as blue and cloudless and one could ever wish for. All the very best to one and all. Cheers, Patrizzio!

A few shots to remind you of the lovely day we had. <https://photos.app.goo.gl/LT4Z4cjjDcdFNzxr7>Al Hello T Rex, et al! Thanks for the colourful snaps of today's outing. Much appreciated. As I mentioned, after java, David and I will be shoeing at Idleback tomorrow. Chuck might join us and as David will be delivering Margaret to the HH parking lot to join group going up Green Mountain, [I feel it is too, too steep for me. David is recovering from a knee replacement, this past June, so steep descents are not something he can handle just yet. I've never been to Idleback but since Chloë lives in Sendero Canyon this area would be ideal for her so another reason I'd like to get to know it.], you and/or Chuck could connect with David at HH and then pop by my place, en route to Idleback.

Anyway, let me know and we'll plan accordingly. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Thank you, Patrick, but I have to pass. Can't make it. Al Too, too bad T Rex. We'll miss you but perhaps another time. Cheers, Patrizzio!

> Hi Aarturos and Bridge Partner! Thanks again for the marvellous snaps, [Now I can prove I was on hike!], as well as all the messages arranging hikes, etc. Bravo! As well, everyone who tasted Highway 97's Hefeweizen enjoyed it immensely. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Good Afternoon Patrick 9:15 AM this coming Thursday for an Idelback snow shoe works well. I have to deliver Margaret to the HH parking lot as she is going up Green Mtn on the Farting shoes. Anyone else is more than welcome from the Farts or elsewhere. I would think we will be doing about 3 hours of shoeing (+/-) with about 3/4 hr driving each way from Penticton. Flat shoeing on old trail / roads with a little bit of exploring maybe? Pls confirm this has worked to you if you would David Did you receive my e mail to your other address Patrick?
David

Hello Chaos Theory Man! I thought you were supposed to be beach-combing not ruminating on the collapse of the universe! At any rate I sent along UW video link to good friend Maggie Carr, now in Parksville, and she enjoyed it immensely. On a related note, read your entry in the latest UW Magazine's Class Acts. Guess you'll be up for an award as Penticton's Most Published Person! Olga Polga was to fly back from La Peñita today so Lady Dar will have a few days by herself until friends from Qualicum Beach arrive. Fondestos to Vittoria. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello to The Bridge Sisterhood! Thanks so much to Anne of Green Gables, [NB is close enough!], for hosting this evening. The drinks and nibblage were simply wonderful and tables close enough to make Hurry Up and Be Dummy, easy peasy! This being the case group has decided you, Anne should host, permanently

I know a number of you cannot play next Monday so Wednesday was floated as another possibility. Please let me know your preference/availability and I'll plan accordingly. In order to give Green Gable Girl a tiny break, I'm delighted to host whichever evening we decide upon. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrick. Thanks for thr photos. Either Monday or Wednesday works for me. Dianne Hi fancy socks!!! I can play Wednesday Judy Patrick, I prefer Monday, but can also do Wednesday.

Susan

Hi all! Here is the info for the snowshoe outing this coming Thursday.  We are planning to get to the top of Green Mountain.  We will: -meet at 0900 at Home Hardware north parking lot in Penticton (0840 at IGA parking lot in Summerland) -carpool and drive toward Apex, parking near the cattleguard at km 8 -snowshoe up the trail to the top of Green Mountain -return and find a place for debriefing and a coffee

This trail is primarily uphill.  With my old legs, I intend to keep a fairly leisurely pace.  If others wish to be speedier, they might want to take time to explore the meadows at the top of Green Mountain. Please remember to dress for the cold weather…….layers of clothes and good mitts and headwear. Are you interested?  If so, please let me know.  Thanks! This will be the last reminder to let me know if you wish to remain on the Old Farts mailing list.  I will be “cleaning it up” very shortly. Cheers, Jim

Hello again Fartograms! Already an email for the next hike, because we are SO ORGANIZED! For next Monday, February 4th, we will, under the leadership of outdoor guru Al Tinka, explore the Eneas Mountain area from the Garnet Lake. It should be easy, slow and approx. 3 hrs duration. As usual, we will get together at 9:00AM latest at the IGA parking lot in Summerland. Pentictonites will gather at 8:40AM at the HH carpool parking lot in Penticton, then carpool to the IGA in Summerland. After the hike we will enjoy a beverage of you choice to recap the experience of another wonderful OF hike. Aren't you happy that we can do this together? See you there! Aarturos
