Welcome The New Year to The Burns Street Blues: January 1st, 2019!

“May the New Year bring you courage to break your resolutions early! My own plan is to swear off every kind of virtue, so that I triumph even when I fall!”
Aleister Crowley, Moonchild

Hi O Susannah! Trust you are well. Great to hear from you and thanks for great card and season's wishes. Stay well. Healthy New Year to you, you Bridge Card Shark! Cheers, Patrizzio! Hi Patrick and thanks for the updates and pics….  and if you are in Vancouver anytime before your surgery please let me know if you would like me to host bridge and fun here in Kerrisdale! Cheers and Hugs, S

Hung Hai Fat Choi! Hi Patrick,Thanks for your e-mail. We’re just finishing dim sum at the Jade Dynasty restaurant in Chinatown, a traditional cure for New Years hangovers. Cheers, Peter Hi Jade Dim Summers! Nobody looks terribly overhung, [Anne a tad pensive, perhaps!], but still a grand way to bring in a New Year. While you are gobbling chicken feet I've a Croc-Pot of turkey soup, [with one of your dried red peppers for a bit of heat!], on the go as well as a large pot of lentils. Will transfer latter into slow-cooker when soup is done. Etta and Duke are napping but I must needs split a bit more firewood before I settle down to read Robert Wilson's You Will Never Find Me. Do you know his work? A simply terrific mystery, and more, author. Enjoy life in the Big City. Cheers to one and all, Patrizzio! Pics: Kitchen at Burns Street Gin Joint and Hot Sheets Hotel! Bacon bits are to add to lentils to keep Vegans from helping themselves!

Hi Guys, We have survived NYE in bed by 10 and sober all great. We hope you have all had a great NYE and all your plans for 2019 come together. We have finalised our trip to Amsterdam and back for September so we are I suppose on a count down. One daughter has nearly finished her home renovation and the other is settling into the idea of living with the old folks at home.

Our little now 62 kilo great dane Lily has now taken to sleeping on our bed sneaking in at 3 in the morning hard to imagine that we don’t even know she has moved in all in all a pretty good life down under. We are going down the Gold coast next week for a few days at the beach will try to keep in contact a bit more often in 2019.Send me your finalized internally for the trip. We are still working on ours so maybe we could meet up for a few days

Hi Gold Coasters To Be & NYE Survivors! Great to hear from you and learn that you have finalized your plans for Europe. As Sarge says, please forward your itinerary, [You can forward your "internally" as well if you'd like. I've always wondered what your insides looked like Grog!] Travel safely to the Gold Coast and enjoy the beach. Fond regards to Elly and Antonio should you see them. Stay well. Healthy New Year to you, Grog, and Claire de Lune and family, from Lady Dar, in absentia, Chloë, in absentia, as well, and I. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrick, Pleased you got the email.  I noticed there was a lot of white stuff in the background of your photos don’t get a lot of that here.  The shoulder sounds like fun perhaps you could ask them to beef it up a bit when they do the replacement. Your plan to get fit before surgery is good one all the best from over here. Cheers Greg and Claire

Hello again, Brisbane! With respect to my shoulder replacement Lady Dar strongly suggested that I should have surgeon "beef up" my penis instead so I had to opt for that procedure as there is only one bodily part amplification allowed for each surgery! Anyway, thanks for thinking of me and such a possible enhancement even if you have been overruled by my Absentee Wife! Cheers, Erecto Man!

Easy flight even though I was in a middle seat. Have to find out internet for my place. I’m settled will send pics when I can. At Agneta now for a light supper and an early night. Just played bocces On the beach. Overcast but still warm.
Love to all Corinne Glad you arrived safe and sound. 😘❤️ Happy New Year Mom! ❤️

Hello my Darling! Pleased all went so well with flight and that you have settled into your tropical pad. How much did you have pay for dinner? I understand Cocina Agneta is highly recommended on Trip Advisor but a very, very pricey restaurant! You'll be able to captain our bocce team when we play at Township 7! Bravo!!! Chloë called before she left Vernon. She and Katie had gone for a walk beforehand. I invited her for dinner but she said she wanted to go home and start taking down decorations, etc. I'll probably run up to her place and cut up her tree over next day or so. Our yard waste bin is almost completely full from ours.

Finished turkey soup and only added one dried red pepper and it tastes just about right. Some might want more salt but people can season to taste. Added the two cans of beans, kidney and white, to lentils and cooked them for about an hour in Croc-Pot, after I had emptied it of soup. Am just waiting for slow-cooker to cool down before putting most in small containers to freeze. Gave Etta and Duke a spoonful of plain yogurt for breakfast and same amount of wet cat food for a New Year's treat a few minutes ago. Didn't really need to wash the dishes afterwards as they licked both treats clean as a whistle!

Looking forward to watching Tim Roth in Tin Star shortly, on Amazon. Must away as fire needs another log although it was quite a pleasant day, even if wind was a bit raw. Buona Fortuna with Internet access. Hello to Agneta and Barb/Lynne when you see them. Love and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Thanks for the newsy email re: New Years and the fact that you’re batching it for a couple of months… guess you’ll be cooking every day unless you enjoy going out for lunches and dinners… with friends of course..So a new shoulder in March… very good! How much down time involved for that.. ?
